New Library Updates
Construction Manager

On September 26, the LTPL Board of Trustees awarded the Construction Manager contract to Frank Rewold & Sons!

Having the Construction Manager in place will help us achieve our goal of breaking ground in spring of 2024!

Quinn Evans has completed the Schematic Design for the building, and we will be moving on to more details on the exterior and interior, using the feedback that the library received from the New Library Town Hall meeting in August.

Visit the Reimagine Your Library page on our website to stay up to date with the latest information as planning progresses.

Tri-County Broadband Survey

Lyon Township is one of the communities that has been identified as a lower broadband access area. The Merit Network is asking residents to complete this 5-minute survey to help to improve access to high speed internet in our community.

Why High-Speed Internet Matters:
Now, more than ever, high-speed Internet is an essential and crucial service to those who live, learn and work in Macomb, Oakland and Wayne Counties. Unfortunately, reliable high-speed Internet access is unavailable county-wide. Accurate information about connectivity is needed to help bring high-speed Internet access to everyone in the Tri-County area.

If you don’t have internet service, you can still take this survey on a cellular web browser or text @moon to 1-855-613-1746. To request a paper survey, please contact 313-625-0029.

Spooky Stories for October
How to Sell a Haunted House
by Grady Hendrix

Forced to return to the small Southern town where she grew up to sell her late parents' house, Louise discovers that her and her brother's old grudges pale in comparison to the terror that still lurks within its walls.
The Once and Future Witches
by Alix E. Harrow

In 1893, there's no such thing as witches. There used to be, in the wild, dark days before the burnings began, but now witching is nothing but tidy charms and nursery rhymes. If the modern woman wants any measure of power, she must find it at the ballot box. But when the Eastwood sisters -- James Juniper, Agnes Amaranth, and Beatrice Belladonna -- jointhe suffragists of New Salem, they begin to pursue the forgotten words and ways that might turn the women's movement into the witch's movement. Stalked by shadows and sickness, hunted by forces who will not suffer a witch to vote -- and perhaps not even to live -- the sisters will need to delve into the oldest magics, draw new alliances, and heal the bond between them if they want to survive. There's no such thing as witches. But there will be.
Ghostland : an American History in Haunted Places
by Colin Dickey

Explores some of the United States' most infamously haunted places, including old mansions and hotels, abandoned prisons, empty hospitals, and other locations, and reveals the repressed history they represent.
