Wizards, Wands, and Potions
with Sloan-Longway
  • Step into another world full of wizards and witches with friends from the Sloan Museum and Longway Planetarium on Saturday, September 28!
  • Cauldrons will bubble and potions will change color. Is it magic or chemistry? Build your own light-up wand and squish your fingers into ghost brains.
  • This program is designed for children aged 8-12, but teens are welcome to join.
  • There will be 2 sessions offered:
    11am-12pm, or 2pm-3pm. Please register for one.

Paws for Reading
  • Wednesday, September 25
  • New or struggling readers in grades 1-5 are invited to sign up for a 15-minute "Paws for Reading" session with one of our local certified therapy dogs.
  • The goal is to provide a non-judgmental atmosphere in which kids can read without correction or interruption and learn not just to read, but to love reading as well.
  • A handful of books will be available, but feel free to bring one from home.
  • Available timeslots: 6-6:15pm, 6:15-6:30pm,
    6:30-6:45pm, 6:45-7pm, 7-7:15pm, 7:15-7:30pm
