A New LTPL Could Be A Reality
A new library building for Lyon Township will appear on the November 8 election ballot; what you need to know!

Over the past nine months, the Lyon Township Public Library Board and the Lyon Township Board have been working diligently on a joint municipal project including a new library building and township park for the Lyon Township community.

Recently, the Township Board and Lyon Township Public Library Board both approved ballot language asking for the passage of a millage for a construction bond for a new library building in Lyon Township. This means that the millage for a construction bond to build a new library will be up for vote on November 8, 2022.

In preparation for this vote, the Lyon Township Public Library has developed a webpage to inform you about what the new library project will entail. This webpage includes project history, library statistics, FAQs, and more. Check out the 'Re-Imagine Your Library' webpage here:

Keeping Kids Safe, Healthy, and Happy in the Digital Age

Tuesday, October 18, 6:30pm
Novi Middle School Auditorium
49000 W. 11 Mild Rd. Novi, MI

Screenwise helps parents recognize that the social wisdom they have gained throughout their lives is a relevant and urgently needed supplement to their kid's digital savvy. The core message of the book is that kids need mentoring, not (just) monitoring, and that kids deserve more empathy from adults about growing up in the digital age. The book offers advice on helping kids navigate friendship and identity issues that are common among new texters, gamers, and social media users.

Join author, Dr. Devorah Heitner, as she teaches parents how to support their children's use of technology, how to empower kids to make positive choices online, and how to create a smart tech culture within a family.
