What's New?

New Library Hours:
Have you heard? Our hours have changed! We're now open:

Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 1-5 p.m.

Working in the Library
  • Computer Use. At this time, computer use (whether on a patron computer or your own device) is limited to 30 minutes.
  • Extended Study or Work. Study tables are available for use, but limited to one patron or patrons from the same household.

Cooking Our Books:

Thanks to advice from our friends at The Urbana Free Library, we are now treating returned items with heat and shortening the quarantine period by several days!

Because it takes some time to bring the ovens to temperature and maintain that temperature for the appropriate length of time, it will take several days for us to get caught up. Eventually, we expect to process items with two days after you return them.

To find out more information, please visit our Library website.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact John Howard, Director, at Director@MahometPublicLibrary.org.

Facebook at 12pm-video available any time after

How do you find a new book to read? Or a new author to try?
Have you ever gone to a store and tasted free samples? Sometimes you liked what you tasted and wanted to buy the new food. Sometimes you didn’t care for it and you went on to the next sample table to try something else.
Grade school and middle school students are invited to join Youth Librarian Maura on Fridays as she reads the first chapter of a new book. If you like the book, you can request it at the library. If this book isn’t for you, then maybe the next Friday’s book will interest you more.

Registration is required for each session.
We will send the Zoom link to those who have registered.
