Claudia Silk Adult Services Librarian Main Library As the nights get longer and the days get colder, there is nothing better than settling into a good book. Here is some compelling fiction to curl up with this winter.

The Family by Naomi Krupitsky - this book has it all - friendship, family, Brooklyn in the 1920s to the 1950s and the mob. A fascinating look at two best friends born into the "family" and how their lives interect. Historical fiction at its best. We Are The Brennans by Tracey Lange - Sunday Brennan has hit a rough patch and she returns to the home she grew up in to face her big Irish Catholic family and the incident that caused her to flee five years prior. Death at Greenway by Lori Rader-Day is a story of two nurses who are hired to help with the evacuated children from London at Agatha Christie's country estate. While the setting is idyllic, there is a murder and nothing is as it seems. All Her Little Secrets by Wanda Morris - a page-turning thriller about Ellice Littlejohn, a corporate lawyer, who seems to have it all until her boss (and lover) is murdered. Who can she trust? And is her life in danger? Matrix by Lauren Groff - It's year 1158. Marie is thrown out of the Royal Court and sent to become a nun because they don't believe anyone would marry her. What ensues is the story of a powerful woman who changes the course of an abbey and the lives of those who come in contact with her. Riveting.
