Stumped on what to read after Lessons in Chemistry? Maria has you covered with these 2 book recommendations...

Looking for a novel full of family, fiery women, and lucky/unlucky in love vibes that reminds you of Lessons in Chemistry? If so, The Vibrant Years will give you all those rom-com feels and then some. It’s funny and warmhearted about a gregarious and gorgeous grandmother (spoiler, she steals the show), her daughter, and her granddaughter (a very successful app developer) who ban together to confront pesky HOAs, bosses who squash dreams, exboyfriends and ex-husbands, and ultimately, work together to try and develop an app to help those looking for love. Inevitably hijinks ensue!

If part of what you love about Lessons in Chemistry is the fact that Elizabeth Zott defies convention and expectation at every turn, to great hilarity and charm, than you check out Killers of a Certain Age. Four assassins -part of an elite, all-female squad called the Sphinxes; are ushered into retirement with an all-expenses-paid luxury cruise. One explosive—and unscheduled—disembarkation later, they make their way back to their country mansion to find out who has put a hit out on them.
