Three reasons to smile@ FCPL this June! |
Summer is in full swing at your library and we're smiling ear to ear about it, just like everyone who attended Lew-E's Comedy Circus last week. (If you missed it, don't fret. We're bringing him back later this month for an encore!)
Of course, our delightful library programs aren't the only reason we see so many happy faces at FCPL. Here are three more reasons to smile this summer:
1. This year's Summer Reading Challenge is more popular and engaging than ever! (Don't just take our word for it, have you seen our Instagram lately?!)
2. Our handy digital Summer Program Guide has everything you need to know about our Summer Reading Program in one place! (Bookmark this for later.) |
3. Our library staff and VolunTEENS are THIS EXCITED to help you have the best summer ever! (Warning: side effects of summer librarian enthusiasm may include Pinterest-worthy library displays, outstanding book recommendations, and children who absolutely love to read. Please proceed with caution.)

We're having a blast "All Together Now" with our Summer Reading Challenge! All ages are invited to log summer reading and do fun activities toward earning motivational prizes and tickets for grand prize drawings now through July 30, 2023.
Join this summer's challenge by logging into your Beanstack account (or creating one if you haven't yet) and choosing "All Together Now Summer Reading Fun 2023" for each family member participating. Then starting logging your reading and activities through the Beanstack Tracker app or on a computer.
Kids and teens can earn digital badges along the way, plus points toward grand prize drawings and tangible prizes (while supplies last) at 100, 250, and 500 points. Adults earn digital badges and tickets toward grand prize drawings. The more you read, the more points you earn! But wait... there's more: |
NEW THIS YEAR: students in grades K–12 will receive a custom FCPL lanyard and limited edition button when they reach the 100 points milestone (while supplies last). Additional buttons to decorate lanyards can be earned at 250 points and 500 points, and there are 6 additional buttons students can earn for completing activities related to writing, being creative, attending library programs, and more!

Wouldn't it be great if you could take a big stack of your favorite magazines with you everywhere you go without having to worry about losing them, damaging them, or paying late fees?
You can! And there's an app for that! (Actually, two apps.)
We have thousands of eMagazine titles in numerous languages available for you to borrow and enjoy on your devices using the Libby app or Flipster app. |
Popular titles available through Libby include US Weekly, Good Housekeeping, HGTV Magazine, Prevention, Kiplinger's Personal Finance, Woman's World, New Scientist, the New Yorker, Reader's Digest, Cook's Illustrated, Country Living, and Food Network Magazine.
Our most popular Flipster eMagazines are People, Better Homes & Gardens, Southern Living, the National Review, and the Atlantic.

Dearest reader,
You are cordially invited to spend A Summer With Jane Austen at the Cumming Library this month. The esteemed adult and teen members of the ton shall gather on June 9, 17, and 24 for activities inspired by Jane Austen and the Regency Era.
Period costumes are encouraged. Cumming Library's Information Services Supervisor, Sarah Brubaker, is pictured here modeling a Regency-inspired silk evening gown she sewed and embellished with hand-stitched pearls just for the occasion. (Why yes, our librarians are indeed quite talented and passionate about their hobbies, thank you for noticing.)
