September Treasures @ FCPL |
|
|
Happy Labor Day, fellow FCPL cardholders!
"Arrrrrr" you as ready for fall as we are?! The photo above was taken last week at one of our pirate-themed "Swashbuckling Storytimes," and suffice it to say, these library program gems were treasured by all!
On that note, we have some exciting new riches items in our coffers collection that may surprise even the most avid library users.
I was talking to a friend last week who has been bringing her kids to our libraries for close to twenty years and she was astonished to learn that we have things like Chromebooks, Launchpads, museum passes, Storytime Kits, and radon detectors available for checkout.
If the idea that books are just the beginning at FCPL is new to you too, keep reading! You’re going to love what your library can do for you this month.

Happy 10th Anniversary to Post Road Library
It’s hard to believe it’s been ten years since the Post Road Library opened on August 24, 2013!
Post Road Library was the 4th library location to open in Forsyth County and the first library in the county to have an automated materials sorter. This technology completely changed the game on our ability to quickly and efficiently get returned items back on the shelves! It has also been a personnel savings over the long run because it takes fewer staff hours to sort and shelve. Today, three of our branches have this technology. The Sharon Forks Library is so busy it actually has two automated sorting machines!
In fiscal year 2023 nearly 700,000 items were checked out from Post Road Library and 33,000 patrons attended programs at Post Road! |
