You're in luck this March @ FCPL! |
You don't need a four-leaf clover to luck out at your library this month! We did the math and it turns out all the materials, programs, resources, and services offered at Forsyth County Public Library are worth way more than a pot of gold! Not only that, but our treasures are hardly ever guarded by mischievous leprechauns (except at Cumming Library in the children's section this month), so grab your library card and strike it rich (in free resources) at FCPL!

Time is running out to learn about our Summer VolunTEEN program and apply!
Do you know a teen who would like to earn volunteer service hours over the summer? Encourage them to become a VolunTEEN at the library!
One of our former VolunTEENS reached out to us on Instagram with the following comment: "I always loved being a part of this when I was younger πI miss it so much." |
Summer VolunTEENS assist with library programs, prepare and create displays and materials, help library patrons sign up for Summer Reading, get real world job experience, and make new friends!
Rising 9thβ12th graders can bring their questions and learn about the summer VolunTEEN program at one of our few remaining Information Sessions. Attendance at an Information Session is required in order to apply.
Be a VolunTEEN and drastically increase your chances of getting to hold a baby kangaroo. (Fine print: not all FCPL VolunTEENS get to hold baby kangaroos. Your results may vary.) |
Attend any session at any location to apply. The location of the Information Session does not impact the assigned VolunTEEN location. Click a date below for more details about that session:
VolunTEEN applications will be accepted March 1β15, 2023. |

| | | FORSYTH READS TOGETHER 2023
An Evening with Chitra Divakaruni April 18, 20237:00β9:00 p.m. Forsyth Conference Center
Our annual Forsyth Reads Together main event is quickly approaching!
Launched in 2008 to encourage literacy and foster community togetherness, Forsyth Reads Together engages readers across the community in discussions, educational events, and author talks focused on a single book selection.
Our book selection this year is award-winning author Chitra Divakaruni's One Amazing Thing, a novel about nine people from different backgrounds who become trapped together for days by a massive earthquake, bonding through storytelling to help them survive. As their surprising tales of romance, marriage, family, political upheaval, and self-discovery unfold against the urgency of their life-or-death circumstances, the transcendent power of stories and the meaningfulness of human expression are revealed.
An Evening with Chitra Divakaruni includes a live presentation by the author followed by Q&A and a book signing. Please register to secure your seat for this special event!

The eAudiobook version of One Amazing Thing is read aloud by several different professional voice actors. One staff member told us, "The different voices and accents make it so easy to follow the story." Another staff member said, "It was like a movie for my ears! I loved it."
