September Happenings @ FCPL |
|
|
I love this photo of two kids reading for pleasure at Sharon Forks Library earlier this year.
It makes me want to curl up on my own sofa and get lost in a good book this weekend!
In this fast-paced world, it’s important to get back to basics now and then; turn off the phone, plunk down wherever we are, and just read!
Libraries today pride ourselves on being vibrant community hubs where books are just the beginning, but let's not forget that books are indeed at the very heart of everything we do.
Here are some other FCPL basics that are good to revisit from time to time:
- Return Borrowed Items Anywhere: You can return your borrowed items to any FCPL location—whichever is most convenient for you.
- Checkout Period: Most materials have a standard checkout period of 2 weeks (14 days). Lending periods vary for digital items and experience passes.
- Easy Renewals: You can renew your materials online, over the phone, or in person at any location—whichever suits you best. Renew or return your items by the due date to avoid late fees of 20¢ per item per day.
By keeping these basics in mind, you can ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience every time you use the library. Whether you’re researching a project, browsing for your next favorite book, or enjoying community events, your library is committed to serving you with the best in resources and support.
Ready for more? Keep reading! You’re going to love what your library has in store for you this month.

Denmark Library Update
Now that the building has been “dried in,” work indoors is happening quickly, including the installation of drywall panels and ceiling gridwork. Outdoor work has begun on the Friends Terrace adjacent to the adult area of the building, and continued progress is being made on the construction of the outdoor Bookworm Garden and amphitheater.
If everything continues on schedule, we're on target to open the Denmark Library in late fall of this year.
