Set during the waning days of the Trujillo dictatorship in the Dominican Republic in 1960, this extraordinary novel tells the story the Mirabal sisters, three young wives and mothers who are assassinated after visiting their jailed husbands.
The assassination of the Mirabal sisters ultimately inspired the official establishment of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25 of each year.
Join Vicky Smith of A to Z Animals for an exciting and educational program all about creatures of the night! We will learn about owls, snakes, frogs, and, of course, bats!
Coach Sergio Magana from United Fútbol Academy will join us to discuss fútbol! Learn about fútbol (which Americans call "soccer") and why it is so such a significant part of Hispanic culture. We will even have some of UFA's super fútbol players here to demonstrate their amazing soccer moves!

This mash up of familiar fables is a rollicking good time with a side helping of home-spun family fun. All told with morals in mind in this original adaptation of three classic fables from Aesop. But in the end just remember, slow and steady wins the race.
