| There's More to the Story |
It's National Library Week from April 23-29! Libraries are full of stories from picture books and large print to audiobooks to ebooks. But there's so much more to our story.
Our programs bring people together for entertainment, education, and connection through book clubs, storytimes, and art classes. We lend specialty items like telescopes, nature backpacks, and memory care kits. And, we play a critical role in providing internet and technology access at home and at the library.
Celebrate the library's full story during National Library Week, and stop in to visit us. |

About Audrey & Her Design |
We are so excited to announce the winner of our 2023 youth library card design contest: Audrey Mast! Audrey is 11 and a student at St. Croix Preparatory Academy. Audrey loves to listen to audiobooks and read, especially under a blanket fort. She considers herself a daredevil and loves all kinds of visual art as well as music, movies, and plays. She plays basketball and watches football.
Audrey’s winning design features a bear, a bird, a cat, and bunnies all reading books. Her design was inspired by her collection of stuffed animals and possibly an experience reading books to Chavo, a neighbor’s dog when she was younger.
Audrey’s design is now available as a special limited-edition library card, coinciding with the start of National Library Week.
Audrey says, “Everyone should have a library card so they can check out library books to take home and read. Kids should visit the library because they could find a book they think looks interesting and will then want to read it. Then they can come back and find more they want to read and soon the library will be a place they will love going to.” |

Audrey's Library Story
| Audrey loves to check out audiobooks from the library. One of her longtime favorites is The Family Storybook Treasury: Tales of Laughter, Curiosity, and Fun. She first checked this out when she was 5 and loved the voices reading to her and the background sounds. When it was time to return it, she absolutely refused! Years later, the storybook treasury is still a favorite item to borrow from the library. She'll go into her blanket fort and draw while listening to its wonderful tales.
