Coinciding with Make a Will Week in British Columbia, we're offering a Town Hall webinar where our guest speakers - lawyers Michael Scott and Brandi Stocks and notary public Clinton Lee - will answer questions about making or updating a will. Guests can submit questions before and during the webinar, with priority given to popular questions and those we receive first. Questions can be submitted here.
Acting as an Attorney or Representative under a Planning Document (Tuesday, November 15, 2022 @ noon PT/1pm MT) Here's the link to register
This webinar is for people who have been named under a power of attorney or a representation agreement. Our guest speakers - Andrea Frisby and Samantha Russell, lawyers with Legacy Tax & Trust Lawyers, and Cari Borenko, regional lead of the Advance Care Planning program at Fraser Health Authority in BC - will answer common questions about the rights and responsibilities of an attorney or representative, including questions about how to best support their loved ones and navigate often conflicting input from others.
This webinar is for people who have an interest in an estate in British Columbia but are not the one handling the estate. Our guest speakers, Amy Mortimore and Zachary Rogers, lawyers with Clark Wilson LLP, will answer common questions about dealing with a problem executor, including questions about disclosure, how long the process takes and concerns about the executors' competence or honesty.

The Radon Library lending program is provided free to library patrons through support from Health Canada, the BC Lung Association, Simon Fraser University and the Kootenay Library Federation. The Kits are available for four-week loans.
Radon gas comes from naturally occurring uranium in soils and rocks and some regions in Canada have more uranium than others. Radon levels in homes can be elevated but it is impossible to tell unless you test as the gas is odourless, tasteless and colourless.
You can place a hold on our website, call, or email us to add your name to the holds list. Unfortunately our system had a glitch, and holds made on the kit before March 2020 were not saved, so if you placed a hold previously, you will need to add it
Click here to find the radon kit in our catalogue. Click “place hold” be put on the waitlist for the radon lending kit. Please call the library if you have any questions.
