Bling Your Prom 2023! Bling Your Prom is an annual library-sponsored program in which all local teens are invited to pick out and take home a FREE complete outfit for their upcoming formal events. This year's Bling Your Prom will be on February 24-25, starting at 2pm Friday and continuing through all library hours on Saturday. No registration needed--just show up ready to find your dream fit! We'll accept donations right up until the event starts! Here's an idea of what we're looking for: - Men's and Women's Formal Wear
- Jewelry and Accessories
- Men's and Women's Formal Shoes
- Formal Masks
- New (Unused) Cosmetics
Volunteers are welcome during the week of setup and the event itself. If you're interested in helping (and aren't in the TVA), sign up for a time slot in GivePulse. Automatic library cards for all Clarke and Oconee students!
Are you a student in the Clarke County or Oconee County public school system? That means you've got a special library card you may not even know about! The student PLAY Card is up and running in both counties, which means you can access the whole Athens Regional Library System with just your Student ID number. With this card, you can check out 5 items at a time and you'll have no late fees for 3 months. Math Circle Tuesday, February 21st, 6:00-7:30pm Athens-Clarke County Library Open to teens in grades 6-12 This program aims to build foundational understanding of mathematical principles using fun games and interesting puzzles. A better grasp on math helps teens both in the classroom and out in the world! Come discover the mathematics behind knots, tangles and Mobius strips. Learn new and interesting ways to count and solve curious counting problems. Invent new games and study the game theory behind them. This is math you may never see in a classroom but it's fun, challenging and accessible for everyone!

Family Cookbook Club Tuesday, February 28th, 6:00-7:00pm Athens-Clarke County Library Open to all ages Are you in a cooking rut? Making the same thing over and over, wanting to learn a new technique or cuisine, or just starting out in the kitchen with no idea where to start? ACCL Teen Services has your solution: a family-friendly cookbook club! Our first pick is Baking with Kim-Joy! If you haven't chosen a recipe, make sure to stop by the Teen Services desk sometime before our meeting and make your selection! Bring your completed dish to the next meeting on Tuesday 2/28 and participate in our club potluck!
