Your New PLAY Card!
Are you a student in the Clarke County or Oconee County public school system? Then guess what? You've got a special library card you may not even know about! The student PLAY Card is now available in both counties, and can be accessed with just your Student ID number. With your PLAY Card, you can check out up to 5 items at a time with NO LATE FEES! You can also use your PLAY Card to check out digital eBooks and audiobooks, movies, and even park and museum passes! No physical card needed - just tell a staff member your county & ID number to check out your books.

Teen Back-to-School Open House Thursday, August 18th, 4:00-7:00pm Athens-Clarke County Library Open to teens in grades 6-12 and their families! New to the area? Not sure what the library has to offer teens? Just love free food and fun? Join us for a special Teen Open House at the library on August 18th. We'll have food, virtual reality, games, crafts, a scavenger hunt, and a special Dungeons & Dragons session for new players. Plus, you can take advantage of a special "Early Bird" sign-up option for our popular Teen Book Box program this fall. Drop in to meet the Teen staff, learn about our services and programs, and start the school year off right!

Fall 2022 Programs We've got some amazing things planned for you this fall! Quick-Tac-Toe
Thursday, August 11th, 4:00-5:00pm
Athens-Clarke County Library Open to teens in grades 6-12
Come play tic tac toe, but fast! At this event, you and your friends can play in teams as you flip water bottles and race to get three in a row before others in a relay-style event. No registration necessary, just stop by after school!

Welcome Back Scavenger Hunt August 3rd through August 31st Athens-Clarke County Library Open to teens in grades 6-12 Throughout August, you can search the Teen department for hidden fun facts about library services and programs. Find them all and you can claim a fun toy or tasty snack as a prize!

Teen Volunteer Association Monday, August 1st, 5:00-7:00pm Athens-Clarke County Library The Teen Volunteer Association (TVA) meets on the first Monday of every month (except this month, due to the holiday!) for a community outreach or volunteer project, plus optional sign-up slots available monthly to shelve books, organize and prepare supplies, and even help with library programs! If you're interested in helping out at the library, giving back to your community, and joining a fun club - this could be the place for you! Teen Dungeons & Dragons Thursday, August 18th, 5:30-6:30pm Athens-Clarke County Library Open to teens in grades 6-12 This month, we'll be hosting a special demo session as part of the Back to School Open House! Drop by any time between 4-5pm to check out our Create-a-Character station and meet the Gamemaster, then join us at 5:30pm for a one hour one-shot game! Our ongoing campaign will resume in September.
