Automatic library cards for all Clarke and Oconee students!
Are you a student in the Clarke County or Oconee County public school system? Then guess what? You've got a special new library card you may not even know about! The student PLAY Card is now up and running in both counties, which means you can access our library with just your Student ID number. With this card, you can check out 5 items at a time and you'll have no late fees for 3 months. Sign up for Fall Teen Book Boxes! Fall Book Box subscriptions will run from October through December. Subscribers will receive a box with 1-2 library books personally selected for them, plus snacks, toys, crafts, and other fun items! In the middle of every month, we'll give you the chance to review the books we sent and let us know if you want anything new or different in your box. Banned Book Week Painting Tuesday, September 20, 4:30-5:30pm Athens-Clarke County Library Open to teens in grades 6-12
Teens are invited to participate in a community art project to celebrate Banned Book Week! Stop by and paint a canvas board to represent your favorite banned book, the fight against censorship, or just the concept of "Freedom to Read." Three winners selected by local judges will receive a gift card prize! All art will be displayed in the library for the rest of this important week, and the winners will be announced at a reception the following Sunday.

Plant Parent Support Group Saturday, September 17, 2:00-3:00pm Athens-Clarke County Library For all ages
Does a thriving plant make your heart skip a beet? Or maybe you can't help but kale all your plants? Come say aloe to fellow plant parents, and make new fronds! We'll have sow much fun learning how to take care of our bee-loved plants, and bonding over the ones we've lost in the process! All thumbs welcome. We will learn all about starting seeds, and what plants are native to Athens at September's meeting.

Teen Volunteer Association Monday, September 12th, 5:00-7:00pm Athens-Clarke County Library Open to teens in grades 6-12 The Teen Volunteer Association (TVA) meets on the first Monday of every month (except for holidays). At each meeting, we'll do a volunteer project, plus you can sign-up for slots throughout the month to shelve books, organize and prepare supplies, and even help with library programs!
