GET TO KNOW THE FRIENDS OF THE AMERICAN FORK LIBRARY

Shannon Moedl

  • Has been with Friends of the American Fork Library for 3 years

  • Loves a surf and turf dinner with a medium rare steak and lobster with garlic butter, and a Coke Zero with lime and coconut cream

  • Favorite genres are thrillers and suspense

  • Her top reads this year have been: Uncharted by Adriana Anders, Mother May I by Joshilyn Jackson, and Kingdom of Bones by James Rollins

  • "Our American Fork Library is exceptional in [making a difference in people's lives]. It goes without saying that these folks build their collection, provide service to their patrons, and manage their facilities well. But way above and beyond doing their job, they offer English classes for adults, homework help and tutoring for kids, they sponsor speakers on mental health topics and host the health department folks for vaccination clinics. They’ve got a set of computers, meeting rooms, and a copy machine – all great resources available to patrons. They’ll gather books for your book club, or lend games for your family’s activity night. Their schedule of community activities is packed full of movie nights, service projects, classes, themed activities, musical offerings, story times and many, many others – mostly free for our AF families. Our library is truly a gem, and is important to so many in our community."
