Board Books for Babies acquaints parents of newborns with the importance of reading together. When parents read to their baby, they help them develop language and literacy skills, even as newborns. Becoming regular library users as a family will start your baby on the path to success through reading and learning.
Parents with newborns can come to the Library's Main Desk and receive a free Board Books for Babies kit, including:
Babies Need Words Every Day booklist
A bookmark with library resources
Nursery Rhyme booklet
Utah Kids Ready to Read Early Literacy tips
Board Books for Babies is sponsored by the American Fork Library, the Friends of the American Fork Library, and a grant from the American Fork PARC program.

How many stars are in the sky? How did the universe begin? Where did it come from? This is the story of Edwin Hubble, a boy fascinated by the stars who surmounted many hurdles to follow his dreams of becoming an astronomer. Using the insights of great mathematicians and endlessly observing the sky, he succeeded in confirming two things that altered human life forever: that there are more galaxies than our own, and that the universe is always expanding.

"Often when helping patrons find the books they are looking for, they will mention to me what books they have been reading. They tell me what the books are about and what they like about them. And I am always impressed at how much enjoyment the library can provide for so many people who have such varied interests."
