Photography by Sean PalfreyDuring the month of August, the Art Walk in the Adult Collections Room will feature Photography by Sean Palfrey! Dr. Palfrey is a retired pediatrician and former Head of Adams House at Harvard University. His work includes landscapes, portraits and architecture, using both digital and traditional film with multiple exposures.

Learn Ukulele with Julie Stepanek Want to try an instrument that is fun and easy to play? Join Julie Stepanek on Thursday, August 4th from 11am-12pm on the library lawn as she shows the fundamentals of Ukulele playing! You'll learn how to tune, strum and read chords. After a short lesson, you'll be able to play songs! No experience necessary and you can either bring your own ukulele or borrow one from Julie. Registration is required and this program is for ages 8 to 108 years old. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.

Writing Workshop For Kids Join Emily Hammond for a writing and performing sketch comedy workshop for kids ages 10 to 14 years old that will run 1pm-3pm on Thursdays from July 14th through August 18th at the East Falmouth Library Branch. Big Ryan's Tall Tales Join us on Monday, August 8th from 11:30am-12:30pm at the East Falmouth Library Branch for Big Ryan's Tall Tales! Big Ryan's Tall Tales features Big Ryan original stories, puppet play, a bit of music and movement and a whole lot of fun! No registration is required and this program is for children ages 3-10 years old. This program is sponsored by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.

Junior Zookeeper Encounter with Wildlife Encounters Come to the library lawn on Tuesday, August 9th from 3pm-4pm to become a "junior zookeeper" with Wildlife Encounters! Come meet and learn about 7 amazing animals up close that may include a hedgehog, large snake, cockatoo and more! No registration is required and this program is sponsored by the Friends of the Falmouth Public Library.

Pitter Patter Puppets Join Mary Wilson of Pitter Patter Puppets on the library lawn on Wednesday, August 10th from 10:30am-11:15am! Pitter Patter Puppets is an interactive puppetry performance encouraging early literacy, problems solving and social-emotional development. Songs, silly stories, and audience participation will keep you and your littles entertained through the whole show. No registration is required and this program is supported in part by a grant from the Falmouth Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Make a Fairy or a Fairy Door Come by the North Falmouth Library Branch on Wednesday, August 10th from 11:30am-12:30pm to make a Fairy or a Fairy House! Make a magical little fairy friend to play with or use as a decoration (ages 4-9) or make a mountable magical door for fairies or gnomes (ages 10-14). We will use natural and recycled items to build an entrance to a fairy or gnome home which can be mounted on a tree, stump, shed, wall, flower pot, anywhere! Registration is required. To register, call the North Falmouth Library Branch at 508-563-2922. This workshop will be held outdoors and cancelled in the event of inclement weather.

Cooking With The Sun! Join Ms. Deirdre on Wednesday, August 10th from 3pm-4:30pm for an adventure on the library lawn! We'll make our own solar ovens and try to melt a marshmellow! Movies Under the Stars The Falmouth Village Association, in partnership with the Falmouth Public Library, will be showing a double feature on the library lawn! Bring your own blankets or chairs and join us on Wednesday, August 10th at dusk (6pm-10pm) on the library lawn to enjoy some outdoor family time! This event is weather dependent and is free to the public. No registration is required. 6pm Movie: Sing 2 (Rated PG; Runtime of 1.8 hours): "The ever-optimistic koala, Buster Moon and his all-star cast of performers prepare to launch their most dazzling stage extravaganza yet, all in the glittering entertainment capital of the world." ~8pm Movie: The Greatest Showman (Rated PG; Runtime of 1.7 hours): "An original musical screenplay brings to life the story of P.T. Barnum and his creation of "the greatest show on Earth."

Tails for Tales with CAP Come to the Youth Services room on Thursday, August 11th from 11am-12pm to read to dogs! Join the friendly pups of the Companion Animal Program (CAP) who are just begging you to read them a story! Come to this popular program at which children who are reading independently may practice their reading skills by reading stories out loud to some gentle dogs from the Companion Animal Program of Cape Cod. Registration is recommended but not required. If registered, you will be contacted to determine the approximate time slot. This program is brought to FPL courtesy of the Companion Animal Program of Cape Cod!
