Spring is finally here, and with this new season brings new additions to the library. Most notable is the addition of Remote Pickup Lockers for easy pickup of library materials any time of the day or week at the patron's convenience. These lockers, funded by Grant-in-Aid from former Assembly Member, Thomas Abinanti, have been a huge hit with patrons. easy and provides access to anyone who can't readily get to the library during open hours. Patrons can also continue to put items on hold and pick them up inside the building, on the holds shelf, or by using the library's curbside service when the library is open. The Remote Pickup Lockers are just one more way to make sure patrons get what they need in the way that suits them best.
Like the new lockers, GPL always looks for new and innovative ways to help the Greenburgh Community. In the three years since the beginning of the COVID pandemic, we've initiated programs and services to keep the community connected. Curbside pickup, the Technology Lending Program, and virtual programs help community members participate at their comfort level. At the same time, we have a diverse and ever-increasing schedule of in-person programs, concerts, classes, workshops, presentations, book clubs, author talks, art receptions, and performances and hope to see more people return to the library.

| Booking a museum pass is easier than ever! Greenburgh Public Library revamped its museum pass reservation system, transitioning from Tixkeeper to Libcal Tickets & Passes. In addition, the new user interface allows Greenburgh Public Library cardholders to browse by institution, allowing them to choose from a calendar for |

that particular museum or browse by date, enabling them to browse all available institutions on specific dates.
After selecting an institution and date, patrons will authenticate their library account with their library card number and PIN (hint: usually the last four digits of your phone number). The library also enhanced the Terms & Conditions for each institution with clear instructions on pass benefits, limits, and procedures for returning physical passes, which are visible after authenticating your library account. After completing your reservation request, your pass will be automatically confirmed. Please visit the Information Desk on the first floor to pick up your physical pass on the day selected.
Digital passes are also easier to reserve. First, select the institution and date of visit and then complete your reservation request. You will receive a confirmation email with a PDF attachment upon submitting the request. The PDF will contain a link or membership number and instructions to complete the reservation with the institution. Some museums, like the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum, have physical and digital passes. After selecting the institution or date, choose your pass preference with the checkboxes above the calendar.

adobe acrobat pro | GPL is excited to announce the addition of Adobe Acrobat Pro to our Library of Things! Patrons can now open their PDFs and edit the text or images, combine multiple files into a PDF, export PDFs to different file formats, and more! Adobe Acrobat Pro is available on laptop #12. Patrons may check out laptop #12 at the circulation desk but it may only be used in the library building. A four-page user guide on using the most common tools in Adobe Acrobat Pro accompanies the laptop. |

cloudLibrary has new features and content, like Kids Mode and Movies. Greenburgh cardholders can enjoy another source for streaming entertainment and find appropriate reading and audio materials for their children.
Browse the Movies site and you’ll find categories like BBC movies, series and documentaries, Oscar Winners and Nominees, Classics, Movies Based on Books, World Cinema, Featured Kid movies, Faith and Spirituality, Romance, Crime & Thrillers, Cozy Mysteries and more.

Kids Mode provides a streamlined experience, including fun graphics, easy navigation with bigger buttons and kid-appropriate browsing and searching. You’ll find the launch icon just under your shelves. Kids Mode can be toggled on when you click on the launch icon and toggled off in your Account. This will allow kids to search through your library's juvenile collection easily, without fear of wandering into the unknown.

| April is National Poetry Month. Greenburgh Public Library is hosting our 2023 Teen Poetry Contest with Writopia Lab. Submissions open: April 1 - 15th
Contest Rules Teen Poets entering the contest must be 12-19 years of age Teen Poets must be Westchester residents Entries must be original unpublished poems in English (though bilingual poems are acceptable). Any poetic style is acceptable. One entry per person. One page maximum length. Library employees are not eligible to enter.

Greenburgh Public Library is here to get you, and your baby, toddler, or preschooler revved up about reading.
Join GPL's 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten, a fun and free program that develops language proficiency, strengthens bonds between you and your child and boosts early literacy skills. All you need to register is a child between the ages of 0-5 who's not yet in Kindergarten and a love of reading.

1,000 books might sound intimidating, but by reading just one book together every day, you'll have completed 365 books in one year. In less than 3 years, you'll have successfully completed the program!
Does your child like to listen to the same book over and over (and over)? That's great! You can count the same book every single time you read it!

At Greenburgh Public Library, we have a variety of books and resources to help your emerging reader learn to read. GPL strives to support the learning styles and needs of our whole community by maintaining a diverse collection of books and learning tools |

and making them accessible. For students learning to read, that includes Phonics books, Wonderbooks(books with built-in audiobooks), books with Dyslexic-friendly fonts, Early/Easy Readers and, last but certainly not least, Decodable Books.
But wait, what are Decodable Books? They are a learning tool that provides a systematic and sequential approach to literacy, allowing students to learn incrementally and build their reading skills at their own pace. These series help emerging readers of all ages and reading levels. GPL’s Decodable Books are eager for you to check them out in the Children’s Room. What Can I Do At Home To Help My Emerging Reader? Read together Find a book that matches the skills your emerging reader have learned so they can practice Encourage your child to pick out books that interest them and read and discuss them together before (and after!) your child reads independently.
