Welcome Sara!
Please welcome our new Adult Services Librarian, Sara Hendrickson! Sara joins us as Ann transitions to a part time assistant role. Say hello the next time you stop at the library and read on for a brief introduction:

Headshot picture of Adult Services Librarian Sara HendricksonI'm excited to get to know the members of the McFarland community and serve them in a tangible way. Prior to entering the world of library services, I was a teacher for almost 20 years. I had the privilege of working with students in the Madison area for a majority of those years. One of my favorite parts during the school day was read-aloud. It was a great experience to introduce students to complex characters, history-laden time periods, and adventurous journeys.

I look forward to introducing materials to people in a new way!  On that note, here are some personal favorites:

Favorite book genre:  Historical fiction and Mystery
Favorite authors right now:  Jamie Ford and Richard Osman
Favorite book right now: Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet
Favorite children’s authors:  Richard Peck, Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, Karen Hesse, and Alan Gratz
Favorite children’s books:  A Year Down Yonder, The War that Saved my Life
Favorite musical genre:  Jazz standards (Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald)
Favorite CD right now:  LA Noire Soundtrack + LA Noire Radio Soundtrack
