Hello & Happy New Year, South Country Community! We have a great batch of crafts and storytimes for children, plus supportive programs for adults to start off 2021 right. Teens, don't miss the new Teen Trivia below (along with a sweet craft & other fun events), and we're recruiting students in grades 9-12 for Advanced Battle of the Books! COVID-19 Information & Support Saturdays 1:00 - 2:00 PM

Join Amy Baires, social work intern from Stony Brook University and trained COVID counselor for this virtual weekly session. Amy will provide emotional support, educational materials, and trusted referrals to those affected by the pandemic. No registration required.

The Library & This Year's Tax Season There will be no in-person AARP Tax-Aide services on Long Island this tax season due to lack of volunteers and COVID-19. Click here to read our full notice with more information and resources. The library continues to provide assistance with printing out forms, copying, faxing, and technical assistance on the computers. We do not offer tax advice.

Our Give or Take Food Pantry is located in the lobby, and available for those in need to obtain food items anytime the library is open.

We have a bin in the lobby where you can donate non-perishable food to help keep the pantry stocked. Thank you for your generosity!

PROGRAMS & ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN & FAMILIES The Children's Department is open for browsing. There are no toys or games. Two internet/typing computers are available for kids to use.

Cozy Checkout Kit Check out a book from our special display and get a surprise with it! One per child, while supplies last.

Join the Winter Reading Club! For newborns - children in grade 5. Pick up a bingo sheet in the Children's Dept. or email childrens@sctylib.org. Complete a row of fun reading activities and return the sheet in the last two weeks of February to get your prize bag!

Sign up for Advanced Battle of the Books! Advanced Battle of the Books is a Suffolk County-wide program open to grades 9-12 where teams from Suffolk County Libraries compete in a trivia contest based on 2 selected young adult novels. Virtual practices will begin in March.
