Boating Safety Course
Saturday, March 23, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
 
The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary will provide instruction at all levels on topics including boating law, safety equipment, navigation, and more. Book included and certificate granted upon completion. 
It is suggested that attendees bring a snack and drink. Register in person at the Reference Desk -- bring a check or money order made out to USCG AUX. Adults: $40. Under 18: $35.
 
 
Open Mic Afternoon
Sunday, March 24, 1:00 - 3:00 PM
 
Musicians, spoken-word artists and friends! Join us on the 4th Sunday of the month for a welcoming, supportive Open Mic afternoon.
No registration required - just drop in and sign up to perform, or join the audience to support your friends and neighbors. 
 
 
Senior Advocate
Tuesday, March 26, 10:00 AM - 1:00 PM
 
Advocates help seniors find benefits for which they may be eligible and assist with the application process. Programs include SNAP, MSP, and HEAP.
Registration not required, but we recommend calling before you depart to confirm the advocate's availability.

Course completion entitles you to a 10% discount on vehicle liability, personal injury protection, and collision insurance for three years; and a reduction of up to 4 points on your driving record every 18 months. Register at the Reference Desk with a check or money order payable to Empire Safety Council. Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group
Monday, April 1, 1:00 - 2:30 PM
 
Join our Alzheimer’s and Dementia Caregiver Support Group, presented by Family & Children's Association and Parker Jewish Institute’s Willing Hearts, Helpful Hands, for caregivers of loved ones with dementia or Alzheimer's disease. Meetings provide these caregivers opportunities to meet with others, participate in educational programs, and have questions answered about their loved one's care.

The Library has a Notary Public
Typically available Mondays through Fridays (subject to change).

We are not able to notarize wills, mortgages, or sales of property.  All documents must be in English. You must have a valid New York State driver’s license or identification card. You may use a valid United States passport but must also have proof of residence that shows your current address. No post office boxes.

Passport Services by Appointment
We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports. 
Hours are by appointment only.

Our service cannot renew a passport.
There is a separate process for that by mail.

Services for Veterans and Job-Seekers
Helps veterans and their families navigate the VA bureaucracy, provides academic tutoring, and assists with employment transition.
Provides various tools to help with every step of the job search including résumé assistance, interview preparation, and career planning.
Each service provides live virtual assistance every day
from 2:00 - 11:00 PM. A current library card is required.
