Indoor Concert Fiddler's Green Friday, March 24, 7:00 - 8:30 PM After a three-year wait, we are pleased to welcome back Fiddler's Green. The band performs traditional music of Ireland and America in an authentic acoustic style. Registration is required.

Vote for our next Outdoor Movie, that we will show on Friday, May 19, at the South Country Ambulance Company. Choose from three classic baseball films: The Sandlot, Field of Dreams, and A League of Their Own. Voting ends Thursday, March 30. Winner announced on March 31.

This Facilitated Self Assistance is offered in cooperation with Bethpage Federal Credit Union's Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. Open for registration -- limited appointments. Thursday, April 6, Stop by from 1:00 - 4:00 PM Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine dental residents will be in the Children's Department to answer your dental questions. Free, no registration.

Community Notice: Building Closure The Library will be replacing the HVAC system for the original section of the building this Spring. We are expecting a building closure while the work is being performed. A variety of services will still be available including e-books, streaming services, parking lot wifi and ref assistance via email, phone and chat. Until we can post specifics in a future email, please call, check our website, or visit our social media for updates on the exact time frame. We are pleased to note the new system will be highly energy efficient and will run on 100% clean energy while providing for greater comfort control and introduction of fresh air into the building. Thank you in advance for your patience during construction!

The Library is looking for volunteers with instructional experience who would like to open countless doors for someone else by offering the gift of literacy. Museum Passes & Discount Tickets

The Library offers free passes to select museums on Long Island & in NYC. We also provide access to discounted tickets to Long Island Aquarium & the Bronx Zoo.

We have print-on-demand passes for the The Long Island Museum of Art, History, and Carriages, the Guggenheim Museum, and Sands Point Preserve. Click here and use the drop-down menu to choose these or other destinations.

Supplies are still low in our Give or Take Food Pantry Please help us help your neighbors in need. We will very gratefully accept donations in the bin in our lobby of non-perishable food to help re-stock the pantry. Thank you for your generosity!

When stocked, our Give or Take Food Pantry provides food items for those in need, in the lobby anytime the library is open.

South Country Library patrons may renew their card or apply for a new one online. Images of photo ID & address verification are required. Or visit our Patron Services desk at the front of the library for the same service.

Passport Services by Appointment We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports.
|
|
Hours are by appointment only. You may also call us at 631-286-0818 x1. Our service cannot renew a passport. Printed forms are available by the Reference Desk.

Do you, or does a friend, need help finding resources to regain stability in life? Angie and Kate are our social work interns from Stony Brook University. They can help with information, referrals, and paperwork for housing, treatment, social services, unemployment, food pantries, and more.

Services for Veterans and Job-Seekers

Helps veterans and their families navigate the VA bureaucracy, provides academic tutoring, and assists with employment transition.
|
Provides various tools to help with every step of the job search including résumé assistance, interview preparation, and career planning.
|
|
Each service provides live virtual assistance every day from 2:00 - 11:00 PM. A current library card is required.
