Long Island Reads Live Stream Event Sunday, April 21, 2:00pm - 3:00pm Long Island Reads will honor Christian Cooper at a ceremony at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Public Library on April 21, at 2:00 pm. Juneteenth Poster Contest!
Students are invited to submit original, creative posters illustrating the power of unity and the history of Juneteenth. Students from grades K through 12 are invited to participate. Students should submit their posters in person to the Reference Desk at the South Country Library by May 13! 3 hrs of community service for completing and turning in a poster on time. Winners will be congratulated at South Country Library's Juneteenth event on Thursday, June 13 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm.

New Discount Tickets & Museum Passes! Adventureland Discounted Adventureland tickets are available for the library price of $27.50 per ticket, at the Patron Services Desk, while supplies last. They are valid from June 1 to September 29. All guests entering the park need their own admission ticket, children under 2 years are free but will be issued a wristband. Regular park ticket prices: $46.99 general (2-24 years); $36.99 Adults (25 years+). Be sure to check the Adventureland website for hours and procedures. The Gateway Playhouse Stop at the Patron Services Desk of the library to get a Gateway voucher for 50% off. Follow the voucher instructions to purchase discounted tickets online. Limit of 10 tickets per voucher, not valid for premium seats, limited to current/specific show, while supplies last. Need premium seats, can’t get a voucher in time, or want to buy tickets for a different show? Go to the Small Business Discount Program to get the Gateway code for 10% discount instead. 9/11 Memorial and Museum This pass includes free, expedited admission to the museum for two adults and two children (under 18 years old), complimentary audio guides, and 20% discount in the museum store. The Museum is open Wednesday to Monday from 9:00am - 7:00pm (last entry 5:30pm). The memorial is free to the public and open daily from 8:00am - 8:00pm. SMART Recovery Tuesdays, 7:00pm - 8:00pm Next Meeting: April 16 A self-empowering, abstinence-based support group for anyone recovering from addiction and addictive behaviors (alcoholism, drug abuse/addiction, gambling addiction, etc.). This is not a 12-step program but is a wonderful alternative or complement to a 12-step program. It is completely anonymous and no registration is required.

Sign Up to be a Literacy Volunteer Are you interested in helping an English speaker learn to read and write? The Library is looking for volunteers with instructional experience. You can open countless doors for someone else by offering the gift of literacy. Interested persons should complete this application and contact Jack in the Reference Department at 631-286-0818 ext 1.

The Library has a Notary Public Typically available Monday through Friday (subject to change). Fee: $2.00 per notarized signature We are not able to notarize wills, mortgages, or sales of property. All documents must be in English. You must have a valid New York State driver’s license or identification card. You may use a valid United States passport but must also have proof of residence that shows your current address. No post office boxes.

Passport Services by Appointment We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports.
