Hello South Country Community,
 
Teens: Warm up and have some fun at our Hot Chocolate and Games event. Then grab some pizza and join us to watch the Bill Murray comedy classic -- Groundhog Day.
 
Adults: These next weeks are packed with programs to satisfy your creativity, curiosity, and sense of security. Take a slow scroll so you don't miss anything.
 
Families with Children: Registration for our February In-Person Programs begins next Wednesday, February 1 -- have a look at the calendar, which includes a Happy Birthday to Mo Willems!

Indoor Concert
The Whitman String Quartet
Friday, January 27, 7:00 - 8:30 PM
 
The Whitman String Quartet will give their first performance at our library, with selections by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, and more, as well as recent works. Registration is required.
The WSQ is comprised of Stony Brook University doctoral students and graduates. The group has trained under the Philip Setzer and Emerson String Quartets, and are currently featured on concert series hosted by North Shore Pro Musica, Three Village Chamber Players, and more.

Sign Up to be a Literacy Volunteer!
Are you interested in helping someone learn to read and write English? The Library is looking for volunteers with instructional experience who would like to open countless doors for someone else by offering the gift of literacy. Interested persons should
complete this application and contact Jack in the Reference Department at 631-286-0818 ext 1.

In partnership with the Health and Welfare Council of Long Island, the library will host multiple organizations in our main corridor, providing information on SNAP benefits and nutrition help, aid to the developmentally disabled, housing assistance, mental and behavioral health services, and more!
Feel free to stop by and meet with them.

Renew or Apply for a New Library Card on Our Website
South Country Library patrons may renew their card or apply for a new one online. Images of photo ID & address verification are required. Or visit our Patron Services desk at the front of the library for the same service.

 
Passport Services
We serve first-time applicants, minor applicants, adult applicants whose most recent passport was issued as a minor, and applicants who have lost their passports. 
Hours are by appointment only.

Our service cannot renew a passport.
There is a separate process for that by mail.

Social Work Services
Do you, or does a friend, need help finding resources to regain stability in life?
 
Angie and Kate are our social work interns from Stony Brook University. They can help with information, referrals, and paperwork for housing, treatment, social services, unemployment, food pantries, and more.

Services for Veterans and Job-Seekers
Helps veterans and their families navigate the VA bureaucracy, provides academic tutoring, and assists with employment transition.
Provides various tools to help with every step of the job search including résumé assistance, interview preparation, and career planning.
Both above services provide live virtual assistance
every day from 2:00 - 11:00 PM. A current library card is required.
