September library card sign up month and we are hoping to see some news faces! Signing up for a library card is easy! A photo I.D. with a current address information is all you need. If your I.D. does not have your current address you just need a piece of mail to confirm your current address. Don't miss out on all the amazing FREE items and services you can access with your library card- including items from our partner libraries is the Old Colony Library Network.


Already got a card? Bring a friend or family member and help get them signed up! Patrons who sign up for a card or recommend a friend will receive a cute, Squishamllow themed goodie bag and be entered to win a real Squishmallow!

For Kids and Families

PJ Storytime: Teddy Bear Workshop

September 26th

at 5:30 P.M.

Join us for a very special Pajama Story Time. This month we will be hosting a Teddy Bear Workshop! All children attending will get to their own teddy bear to stuff and take home with them! In addition to making our new friends, we'll sing songs and read stories all about bears. 

Registation will be limited for this special event. 


This program is geared towards children ages 3 to 8.

Pre-School Story Time

Every Tuesday 

at 10:30 A.M.

Welcome to our weekly pre-school story time! Get your little ones reading and loving books early with our interactive story times. We'll read a few fun stories, sing some songs, do some crafts, and maybe even play with puppets! 


This program is geared towards children ages 3 to 5.

Bouncing Babies Playtime

September 5th and 19th

at 10:30 A.M.

Join us on the first and third Thursdays of the month for a fun-filled time of stories, songs, and play. We will start out by reading a short story, each little one will get their own copy to hold. We'll sing songs and enjoy some sensory free-play.


This program is geared towards infants from birth to 24 months.

Pick-and-Choose Craft

September 18th

1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M.

Come and choose your own craft!  We will be putting out crafts from years past, or even weeks past! So, if you missed a craft - stop on by and you may just be able to make one! We have all different kinds of crafts for you to choose from - from making your own t-shirts to coloring sheets, there will be something for everyone!


This craft is geared towards children ages 5 and up.

Drop in Craft: Fall Bookmarks

Saturday the 28th

from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M.

Join us for a fun and casual drop-in craft. We will be making fall bookmarks- great for young readers and even greater as gifts!

All are welcome, this craft is geared towards children age 5 and up.

Open Video Gameplay & VR with One Up Games

Saturday, September 14th

11 A.M. - 2 P.M.

The library is open on Saturday for the season and our friends from One Up Games are back! Drop into the Avon Public Library for three hours of free-play on a variety of consoles as well as VR headsets! 

Video game enthusiasts of all ages are welcome, those ages 11 and under need to have an adult with them at all times.

Tech Tutoring

Thursday, 5th

6 P.M. - 7:30 P.M.

Come and join us as for a beginner computer class. Learn about how to use a mouse, type, browse the internet, and use the Google Workspace. This class is intended for absolute beginners that want to learn how to work with desk top and laptop computers.

Registration will be limited to 3 people for this class.
