South Shore Jigsaw Puzzle Trunk Swap Friday, August 18, 5:30-7:00 PM Broad Street Library Parking Lot Do you have extra jigsaw puzzles that you want to swap for "new-to-you" ones? Tufts Library is hosting a Jigsaw Puzzle Trunk Swap in the parking lot between Tufts Library (46 Broad Street) and the South Shore Christian Academy. The entrance to the parking lot is on Stetson Street. Look for the sandwich board. Jigsaw puzzles you bring to trade should be in good condition, with pieces in a Ziploc bag within the box, noting any missing pieces or issues on the outside of the box. Please note if it was in a pet-friendly home to help out puzzlers with allergies. Limited to 25 cars/parking spaces. Multiple people can be in one car/space under the same registration. This year we will welcome performance art (slam poetry, musical performance, comedy routine, anything less than 5 minutes) in addition to visual art. Wilderness Survival Training Thursday, August 3, 6:00-8:00 PM Grades 7-12 only Matt "Animal Man" Gabriel will be here to teach teens basic survival skills that may someday save your life or the lives of loved ones. Learn construction of the warmest yet simplest shelter on the planet- the debris hut; how to coal-burn a wood bowl and rock boil drinking water, soups & stews. Unlock the mystery of primitive fire making with the bow drill; learn at least four edible/medicinal wild plants that are abundant throughout North America and are available year-round. Lost Proof yourself; learn the components of a pocket survival kit and learn what EDC items are and why everyone should have them. Made possible thanks to a grant from the Weymouth Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Pop Up Art School: Felted Frog Face Wednesday, August 9, 3:00-4:30 PM This program is for children ages 8-12 only. Learn how to needle felt a friendly froggy face. This expressive frog has a three-dimensional tongue and speech bubble. Space is very limited so registration is required.
