Bring your questions, and if you're not sure what to ask, don't worry! At Tech Vocab Hour, our technology reference librarians will go over all the tech terms that you keep hearing but haven't found a good explanation for. You'll even get a customized crossword puzzle with the day's vocab terms so that you have a fun way to review what you've learned at home.

Transplanting with Farmer Jon Thursday, May 12th, 6:30 PM Outdoor Terrace, Tufts Library Join Farmer Jon Belber of Holly Hill Farm in Cohasset to learn about a variety of plants that are ready for a new home and how to transplant them to a more permanent pot or to the ground, if space allows. Each participant will learn about different varieties, herbs, and flowers that folks can take home.

Meet the Author: Ann Hood Monday, May 16th, 7:00 PM Meeting Room 138, Tufts Library Join us as we welcome Ann Hood and her new memoir, Fly Girl. Ann's career as a best-selling novelist and memoirist took off from a surprising runway: the jump-seat of an airplane. With Fly Girl, Hood invites us to fasten our seatbelts and travel beside her as, through grueling flight pairings and midair romances, face-offs with the airline industry's sexist standards, and the thrill of flying solo in foreign countries, she finds adventure, and her voice, at 35,000 feet. The event will be followed by a book sale and signing.

Byte-Sized Basics: 2-Factor Authentication Thursday, May 19th, 10:00 AM Digital Media Lab 203, Tufts Library When you sign in to your email (or another online account), sometimes you're prompted to enter not just your password, but a temporary code. We'll go over this process, why it happens, and how to make it easier to manage. This class is highly recommended if you want to attend other Byte-Sized Basics classes. To participate in the interactive portion of the class, you will need an online account (such as email), your password for the account, and the device that your 2-factor authentication codes get sent to (usually your smartphone). If you need guidance on resetting a password, please make a tech appointment with a librarian.

Byte-Sized Basics: The Cloud Thursday, May 26th, 10:00 - 11:00 AM Digital Media Lab 203, Tufts Library Have you ever spent a lot of time typing up a document in Word, only to discover later that you can't find it and you don't know how to share it with someone? In this class, you'll learn how to save the work you've done on a computer so that you can do things like access it later and share it with others. Familiarity with using a mouse and keyboard is a prerequisite.

Tumblebook Library Our Library has a subscription to TumbleBook Library, and your family can access it from home! It's unlimited and it's FREE for you to use from home! TumbleBook Library is an online collection of e-books for children. They are a great way to encourage tech-savvy kids to enjoy reading! There are over 250 animated, talking picture books! The site also features Spanish and French books, read-along chapter books, non-fiction books, and exciting games and puzzles!

New Multi-Lingual Children's Book Database Weymouth Public Libraries patrons now have access to digital children's books in 13 different languages through the "AV2 World Languages" database. Parents and children can read or listen to 110 different titles, each available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, German, Hindi, Korean, Tagalog, Vietnamese, or Urdu. AV2 is great for language learners as well!
