Narcan Info and Training with MANET Community Health Thursday, August 4th 6:00 PM Meeting Room 133, Tufts Library In the Narcan and Overdose Prevention presentation, a representative from MANET Community Health will introduce attendees to Naloxone AKA Narcan, and how it can save someone’s life during an opioid overdose. Additionally, people will be educated on how to identify signs of an overdose, how to respond to an overdose when one has been identified, how to administer Narcan and when to administer more than one dose, and more information about this life-saving medication.

Weymouth Health Department Blood Pressure Clinic Wednesday, August 10th & 24th, 11:30 AM -1:00 PM Meeting Room 133, Tufts Library Get your blood pressure under control with our friends at the Weymouth Health Department! They'll be here on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month to check your blood pressure for free!

Multimedia Teen Art Show Thursday, August 18th, 7-8 pm This is the 10th big year for our Teen Art Show! This year we will welcome performance art (slam poetry, musical performance, comedy routine, anything less than 5 minutes) in addition to visual art.

Improv Acting Class with Jape PayetteMonday, August 8th, 6:00 PM Sharpen your acting skills with this class taught by a professional actor with over 30 years experience. Teens will learn and practice Improv, Monologues and Scenes. This is a great chance to test your wit and improve your confidence in performing. This program is supported in part by a grant from the Weymouth Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Tumblebook Library Our Library has a subscription to TumbleBook Library, and your family can access it from home! It's unlimited and it's FREE for you to use from home! TumbleBook Library is an online collection of e-books for children. They are a great way to encourage tech-savvy kids to enjoy reading! There are over 250 animated, talking picture books! The site also features Spanish and French books, read-along chapter books, non-fiction books, and exciting games and puzzles!

New Multi-Lingual Children's Book Database Weymouth Public Libraries patrons now have access to digital children's books in 13 different languages through the "AV2 World Languages" database. Parents and children can read or listen to 110 different titles, each available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic, Russian, Mandarin, German, Hindi, Korean, Tagalog, Vietnamese, or Urdu. AV2 is great for language learners as well!
