Chess Club (ages 6+) Mondays, February 5 & 26 @ 6:00 pm Doug Southall leads a chess club for children age six and older, approximately every two weeks. Each meeting will begin with a brief lesson on some aspect of the game, followed by free play. No registration necessary.

Bingo (ages 8+) Friday, February 16 @ 4:00 pm Bingo for kids ages 8-11! Have a great time, and win prizes! No registration necessary.

Lego Days (all ages) Tuesday, February 20 & 27 @ 4:00 pm Use your creativity and build something with Legos. Blocks provided. We'll display your creation!

Mr. Vinny's Shadow Puppets (all ages) Friday, February 23 @ 10:30 am The wonderful Mr. Vinny, of the famous Toe Jam Puppet Band, will present an amazing and hilarious show featuring his handmade shadow puppets. If you are familiar with Mr. Vinny's wacky personality, you know you are in for a treat. Registration will open February 5.

Read to a Dog (all ages) Saturday, February 24 @ 11:00 am Tucker the Sussex Spaniel therapy dog will visit. Children may read to him or just enjoy his company.

VIRTUAL: Effective Grassroots Movements that Impact Voter Rights Monday, February 5 @ 7:00 pm Rachael V. Cobb, Ph.D. is Chair and Associate Professor of Government at Suffolk University. Cobb specializes in U.S. elections, election administration, electoral politics, civic engagement, and political participation. Professor Cobb established the University Pollworkers Project, a nonpartisan program designed to recruit college students as poll workers as a response to reports of an estimated shortage of 500,000 poll workers nationwide. VIRTUAL: Author Talk - A Conversation with Two Noah Charneys Thursday, February 8 @ 2:00 pm There are TWO Noah Charneys and they know each other! One is a world renowned Ecologist and Conservationist who wrote "Trees Tell a Story." The other Noah is a noted art historian, specializing in art heists through the ages. VIRTUAL: Author Talk with Peter Bellerby, The Globemakers Thursday, February 22 @ 2:00 pm Join Peter Bellerby, founder of Bellerby & Co. Globemakers, in this visual tour through the history of Globemaking, how it almost became a lost art, and how he is bringing it back, one beautiful hand painted globe at a time. His book, a full-color photographic portrait of a fantastic art, "The Globemakers" is an enlightening exploration of globes, or “earth apples,” as they were first known, and their ability to show us ourselves and our place in an infinite universe. VIRTUAL: The Russia Sanctions Wednesday, February 28 @ 7:00 pm Author and professor Christine Abely will discuss her brand new book, The Russia Sanctions: The Economic Response to Russia's Invasion of Ukraine. Learn about the international trade measures and sanctions deployed against Russia in response to its 2022 invasion of Ukraine. Explore how sanctions have affected, and will continue to affect, global trading patterns, financial integration, and foreign policy in novel ways. For the first time in decades, we will raise our prices on hardcover adult books, starting March 1st. Don't worry, it's only going from $2.00 to $3.00 - other items will remain at the same price.
