Let Our Rivers Flow Tuesday, December 12 at 6:30 pm Join us for a conversation with the North & South Rivers Watershed Association about the fish that call our rivers home, the impacts of dams on our environment, and why it is so important to restore our rivers now more than ever. For more information on these topics, visit the Let Our Rivers Flow book display near the New Books area. There are 3,000 dams in Massachusetts and the majority were built to support industries that no longer exist. What remains are the impacts of these dams on the health of our rivers and the habitats they support. We see those impacts along the Indian Head River, which flows through our community, and two dams on this river are currently being considered for removal - one at Ludden’s (formerly known as Luddam's) Ford Park on the Hanover/Pembroke town line and another at State Street on the Hanover/Hanson town line.
