Massachusetts South Shore Woodturners -Demo 

We are excited to welcome back the Massachusetts South Shore Woodturners for a presentation and demonstration. The group president will provide a brief introduction about who the Massachusetts South Shore Woodturners are and what they create. Using lathes, group members Jeff Keller and Ken Whiting will demonstrate how to turn wooden tops. They will also give away the wooden tops made at the demo.

Dinner and a Movie: Marcel the Shell with Shoes On

Pizza dinner will start at 5:30pm - feel free to bring a side dish to share. Film starts at 5:45pm.

Take and Make, Shark Bookmark Craft

This craft will be available for pick up at the main circulation desk from July 15 to 20 while supplies last!

This craft is intended for Teens. Adults and Children are welcome to sign up, but children will need assistance in assembly.

Shark Week: Documentary Night, Saving Jaws

Recycle Lab

What can you make with recycled materials? Drop in weekly during the summer to this open-ended craft program and use your imagination! We'll have all sorts of recycled material, and you're welcome to bring your own. Dress for mess just in case. For children ages 6 and up. This program will meet through August 6.

Drop In Fireworks Painting

Make a fireworks painting in time for the Fourth of July! Using acrylic paint and cardboard tubes, you will stamp a sky full of sparks. This is a drop in program available while supplies last. Dress for mess. Best for ages 6 and up with some caregiver help. No registration.

Insect Safari with Professor Bugman

Come explore the arthropod biodiversity outside in your own community with a real entomologist! We bring the equipment and expertise, you bring the curiosity! Ages 4-12, caregiver must remain in library. Registration required.

Storytime with Primrose School & Friends

A special storytime at the library hosted by Primrose Schools in Rockland, MA https://www.primroseschools.com/. For children age 0-5 and their caregivers. Registration appreciated.

Take and Make: Sew Your Own Sea Creature

It's beach season! Register for your kit to sew your own sea creature. You will randomly receive ONE of the creatures shown in the picture. Best for kids ages 7 and up. Registration required.

A Song & Story Adventure with Davis Bates

Join storyteller Davis Bates for a participatory program of songs and stories celebrating the 2024 Summer Program Reading Theme. Hear how a coyote got his howl, about a brave parrot, and sing to a dancing wooden dog named Bingo. Family stories, sea stories, sing-alongs, spoon playing & more! For children age 5 and up with caregiver. Registration required.

Helping Endangered Animals

Learn about endangered animals here in New England and across the globe with Joy from Joys of Nature. Joy will share with you what makes an animal endangered and why animals are disappearing. The Power of Music with Ruo Li - Session 1

Join us in welcoming Ruo Li as she works towards her gold award for Girl Scouts. During her presentation of The Power of Music she will educate those in attendance on the power of music and how it can bring joy and happiness to people. This presentation will talk about the parts of the cello and how each note sounds.

This program is for anyone interested in trying new instruments, learning new skills or simply wanting to learn facts you might not know about the cello. During this program if there is time Ruo will also demonstrate and teach the basic notes of the cello.
