Jazz Combo: Norwell High School

The Norwell High School Jazz Combo is a small group of students who have been involved in the jazz program for multiple years. The Combo is modeled on small jazz groups from the 1940s-1960s, and it performs mostly jazz standards from that era.

The Dirty Martinis Duo presents a Valentine's Day concert filled with beloved classic sing-a-longs by great singers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and many more. Dancing encouraged! South Shore musicians Les Sampou and Edward Grenga team up to bring their vast talents to this delightful and entertaining show!  We hope you and your family can join us!

Drop In Vacation Week Craft: Friendship Bracelets

Did you miss out on our Take and Make for kids this month? Don't worry! Drop by during vacation week and make friendship bracelets in the style of Taylor Swift's Eras Tour bracelets. We will have assorted beads and pipe cleaners available for easy stringing and tying on.

Tooth Fairy Storytime

The Tooth Fairy visits the library to share a special storytime all about...teeth! Listen to fun stories about teeth and learn about brushing and what happens at the dentist. Presented by Claire Reilly of Dentistry for Children, South Weymouth. This storytime is suitable for all ages with caregiver, including babies and toddlers who are new to dental care. Registration required (even for babies).

Read to Skipper

Come meet Skipper, a therapy dog in training who loves pats and being read to! Register for a 15-minute slot for one-on-one reading time with Skipper and his handler. Registration required.

Yoga Storytime

Explore books and yoga poses at this storytime! Led by Christine of Little Bee Yoga. Ages 2-6 with caregiver. Registration required, please bring your own yoga mat.

Mama Steph Concert

Mama Steph returns to Norwell for her ever-popular kids concert! For children up to age 5 with caregiver. Registration required.

Drop In Leap Day Frog Craft

February 29 is Leap Day! Drop by to make your own leap frog from a paper plate, while supplies last. Instructions will be available in the Children's Studio, caregivers are to remain with/assist children. Dress for mess just in case! Picture is to give you an idea but may not be the same as the finished product.

Black History Month Scavenger Hunt

Try to find all the major Black historical figures hidden around the Children's Room!

Teen Advisory Group (TAG!)

Calling all Teens!! Join the Norwell Public Library TAG (Teen Advisory Group) and receive teen volunteer hours. During TAG meetings, there will be further discussion on teen programming, the teen room space, and more. 

Registration is strongly suggested. Snacks and Switch Games will be provided to those who attend! 

Take and Make: Heart Wreath 

This month's take and make is a Heart Wreath. Those who register will have their craft kits put to the side for pick up at the circulation desk. This craft is intended for Teens. Adults and Children are welcome to sign up, but children will need assistance in assembly. Pick up your kit at the main circulation desk starting February 12 to February 17th.

If you will not be able to make the pick up window, please call the front desk to allow others the chance to receive the craft! 

Teen Crafternoon: Heart Wreath

Join the YA Librarian in a step by step tutorial on how to make a heart wreath. Different color paper will be provided as well if you don't want your wreath to be red and pink!

This Crafternoon is intended for grades 6th through 12th. 

Lets Make Mug Cupcakes!! Teens Only

Join the YA Librarian in making microwaveable mug cupcakes! Each individual in attendance will be shown how to make a cupcake mug cake and be given the recipe. If you have an allergy please inform Brooke the YA Librarian of said allergy by reaching out at bvitagliano@norwell.ocln.org or stop by the Adult and Teen Services desk.

Video Games Club: Teens Only!!

Calling all teen gamers! Join us for the start of the Video Games Club here at Norwell Public Library. Every month we will select from a group of switch games to play together ranging from Mariokart to Cuphead. If there's a special game you wish to see on the list be sure to tell Brooke the Teen Librarian. Must be rated E, E10+ or T to be accepted.

This program is for grades 6th to 12th. Snacks will be provided to those in attendance!

Mindful Yoga for Everyone 

Mindfulness practices based on the 7 attitudes from Jon Kabat-Zinn are woven throughout the class to facilitate the connection of the mind, breath, body, and spirit. All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners and advanced beginners. 

All you need is an open mind, yoga mat, and a towel or blanket (to roll for support as needed), and water.

For the past several years, Aime Alley Card has been researching, interviewing, and writing about the Tennessee State Tigerbelles and recently published The Tigerbelles: Olympic Legends from Tennessee State. For this book, she conducted and reviewed hundreds of hours of interviews and read just as many books and articles, ranging from concurrent to retrospective.
