Read to Skipper

Come meet Skipper, a therapy dog in training who loves pats and being read to! Register for a 15-minute slot for one-on-one reading time with Skipper and his handler. Registration required.

Explore books and yoga poses at this storytime! Led by Christine of Little Bee Yoga. Ages 2-6 with caregiver. Registration required, please bring your own yoga mat.

Teen Half Day Hang Out

Join us for a half day hang out or stop by for a quick snack. Pizza will be provided to students while supplies last! 

There will be a Nintendo Switch for people who want to play mariokart, mario party or super smash bros ultimate! Feel free to bring your own switch controllers for smash, the more the merrier.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG!)

Calling all Teens!! Join the Norwell Public Library TAG (Teen Advisory Group) and receive teen volunteer hours. During TAG meetings, there will be further discussion on teen programming, the teen room space, and more. Registration is strongly suggested. Snacks and Switch Games will be provided to those who attend! 

Take and Make: 3D Snowflake

This month's take and make is a 3D Paper Snowflake. Those who register will have their craft kits put to the side for pick up at the circulation desk. This craft is intended for Teens. Adults and Children are welcome to sign up, but children will need assistance in assembly. Pick up your kit at the main circulation desk starting January 16th to January 20th. 

If you will not be able to make the pick up window please call the front desk to allow others the chance to receive the craft! 

Power Point Night (Afternoon): Teens Only!

Do you like talking about topics you're passionate about? Well join us for a fun afternoon full of presentations! These presentations can be made on any topic you want such as your favorite tv show, character in a fandom, favorite animal, favorite meme or what ever you wish, within good reasons of course! The YA librarian will also join in on presenting! 

This is intended to be something fun so you don't have to take it seriously. If you don't want to make a presentation but want to watch you're more than welcome to still join. 

Please try and keep your presentation to 5 to 10 minutes long (depending on how many sign-up, roughly 4-5 slides long). Your presentation must be made before the event or before you present. 

Teen Crafternoon: 3D Snow Flakes

Join the YA Librarian in a step by step tutorial on how to make 3D snow flakes. Different color paper will be provided as well if you don't want your snowflake to be snowy white! 

This Crafternoon is intended for grades 6th through 12th.

Video Games Club

Calling all teen gamers! Join us for Video Games Club here at Norwell Public Library. Every month we will select from a group of switch games to play together ranging from Mariokart to Cuphead. If there's a special game you wish to see on the list be sure to tell Brooke the Teen Librarian. Must be rated E, E10+ or T to be accepted. There is no need to bring your own switch console, if you do you're welcome to do so. Snacks will be provided to those who register!

This program is for grades 6th to 12th.

Mindful Yoga for Everyone 

Mindfulness practices based on the 7 attitudes from Jon Kabat-Zinn are woven throughout the class to facilitate the connection of the mind, breath, body, and spirit. All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners and advanced beginners. 

All you need is an open mind, yoga mat, and a towel or blanket (to roll for support as needed), and water. 

Trees Triumph Over Adversity

Wellbeing and Resilience Workshop: Session 1: Build Your Foundation

We often set big goals for our well-being practices and find ourselves at a loss of where to begin. This session will focus on gaining awareness of what matters most to you to improve and offer tools to help you define the actions that will get you to success. Just knowing what you want is not enough to make a difference. You need tools to drive action and a framework to help you monitor your progress.

Literary Circle Book Group: We Crossed a Bridge and it Trembled: Voices from Syria

For January, we will be reading the non-fiction title We Crossed a Bridge and it Trembled : Voices from Syria by Wendy Pearlman.

Based on interviews with hundreds of Syrians conducted over four years across the Middle East, Europe, and the United States, it chronicles the war from its origins to its present horror, solely through the words of ordinary people transformed by its unfolding.
