Go behind the scenes of Christopher Castellani's critically acclaimed novel, Leading Men, which dramatizes the tempestuous relationship between Tennessee Williams, his longtime partner Frank Merlo, and their protégé, an aspiring Swedish actress named Anja Bloom. The book is currently being adapted to film by the producer-director team that made Call Me By Your Name. |

Dinner and a Movie: L'immensità |

Clara (Penélope Cruz) and Felice struggle to raise their three children in 1970s Rome. The eldest, Andrew, is transgender and yearns for another life where he gets to live as the boy he knows himself to be. Clara instinctively strives to protect her son by escaping into their imaginations to defuse family tensions. L'immensità is a creative and moving film about growing up and breaking the mold.
Pizza dinner will start at 5:30pm - feel free to bring a side dish to share. The film starts at 5:45pm.

Join fellow anime-enthusiast and MML Youth Services Librarian Dina Delic to learn about the history of queer representation in manga and anime! This program will give an overview of queer representation throughout various series, from The Rose of Versailles to Yuri on Ice, and will answer your most pressing questions: What is shipping? What is the difference between yaoi and yuri? Why are the greatest love stories in anime always platonic?

Crayon Melting Art |

Join the YA librarian in creating melted crayon art. These art masterpieces are made by gluing crayons onto canvas and melting them with a hair dryer until they run down the canvas. You can also paint on the canvas before the gluing and melting process if you wanted to add even more to these master pieces.
