Larry Guilmette's exhibit "Tea Leaves & Tattered Sails" will be on display from November 1st -30th.  On November 4th he will be in the Meeting Room from 1:30-3:30pm to meet and talk briefly about his work.  Registration Optional.

Onslaught: The Wessagusset Incident

Join Christopher Daley as he chronicles the arrival of the pilgrims at Plymouth and the beginnings of their colony as well as the little-known arrival of “Weston’s Men”, a group that began a colony in what is now the town of Weymouth, then known as Wessagusset. The presentation will examine the interactions of the Native Americans and the two English groups and the factors which led to the Wessagusset Incident of 1623. This will be followed by a discussion on the far-reaching after effects.

Baby Play Group

Meet new parents in a space with age appropriate toys for ages 0-12 months.  Registration required.

Storytime with Marissa

Ages 0-5 are welcome to join Marissa for 30 minutes of stories, participatory songs, and fingerplays that support early literacy. Registration is required. Please sign up for each week you are interested in attending. No meeting on Monday, November 6.

Read to Skipper

Come meet Skipper, a therapy dog in training who loves pats and being read to! Register for a 15-minute slot for one-on-one reading time with Skipper and his handler. Registration required.

Read to Spider

Practice your reading skills with Spider and his handler. This is a drop in program, first come first served.

Yoga Storytime

Explore books and yoga poses at this storytime! Led by Christine of Little Bee Yoga. Ages 2-6 with caregiver. Registration required, please bring your own yoga mat.

Teen Advisory Group (TAG!)

Calling all Teens!! Join the Norwell Public Library TAG (Teen Advisory Group) and receive teen volunteer hours. During TAG meetings, there will be further discussion on teen programming, the teen room space, and more. Registration is strongly suggested. Pizza and Mario Kart will be provided to those who attend!

Turkey Craft

This month's take and make is a flat felt sheet turkey shape like ornament. This craft is intended for Teens, Adults and Children are welcome to sign up. Intended for older ages, children may need assistance in assembly. Pick up your kit at the main circulation desk starting November 13th until November 18th. Limited craft kits available. 

The Felted Bee, Little Pumpkins: Teens Only!*

Come learn to needle felt wool into cute little pumpkin decorations! Needle felting is an addictive art that uses a sharp barbed needle to turn fluffy wool into dense shapes. All supplies are included and you get to bring them home with you. No experience necessary, ages 11+. *Variety of colors of wool to choose from.*

This program is intended for teens, but adults are welcome to sign up starting Friday November 10!

Video Games Club

Calling all teens! Join us for the start of the Video Games Club here at Norwell Public Library. Every month we will select from a group of switch games to play together ranging from Mario Kart to Cuphead. If there's a special game you wish to see on the list be sure to tell Brooke the Teen Librarian. Must be rated E, E10+ or T to be accepted. 

This program is for grades 6th to 12th.

Mindful Yoga for Everyone 

Mindfulness practices based on the 7 attitudes from Jon Kabat-Zinn are woven throughout the class to facilitate the connection of the mind, breath, body, and spirit. All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners and advanced beginners. 

All you need is an open mind, yoga mat, and a towel or blanket (to roll for support as needed), and water.

The Miracle Club

Set in 1967, The Miracle Club (released in August) follows the story of three generations of close friends, Lily (Maggie Smith), Eileen (Kathy Bates), and Dolly (Agnes O'Casey) of Ballygar, outside Dublin, who win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town of Lourdes, the place of miracles that draws millions of visitors each year... Along the way, old wounds are reopened, forcing the women to confront their pasts even as they travel in search of a miracle.

Pizza dinner will start at 5:30pm. Feel free to bring a side dish to share. The film starts at 5:45pm.

South of Boston Board Game Meetup

The Norwell Public Library is excited to host the  South of Boston Board Game Meetup  on Saturday from 10:00am - 4:00 pm. The group began as an inclusive community of board gamers in the South Shore area and beyond!

Bring a game to swap with other attendees. This free event is open to junior high aged teens and adults of all ages. No registration required.

Express Lane Barbershop Quartet sings old and new songs in the traditional barbershop style.  Rob (Lead), Doug (Baritone), Jim (Bass), and Jon (Tenor) will be singing old and new songs in the traditional barbershop style.
