Conservation Day: Guided Insect Walk: Meet at Jacob’s Pond

If you want to find a way to exercise, relax, and reconnect with nature, then I can think of no better way than joining our guided insect walk.
This is part of Norwell Conservation Day (9am-1pm): Join Norwell Conservation to learn about the environment, on-going conservation efforts, and the history of Jacobs Pond and The Jacobs Farm. Enjoy expert-led walks or stop by the many exhibition tables from local groups to learn about their work for the environment.
Activities for all ages, food, live music, and much more. |

Your Vote is Magic: Lyn Dillies

Lyn conjured up a historic illusion that made the two live political mascots appear out of thin air, a donkey and an elephant! The spectacular election illusion was the kickoff for Your Vote Is Magic to teach citizens about the importance of voting.
Recommended for ages 11+, adults and children who can sit quietly through the presentation. |

Meet the Artist : Keith Conforti

Come meet artist Keith Conforti to hear about his art and process and view his current exhibit at NPL which explores neglected and abandoned worlds, allowing him to create stories about the contradiction of beauty and decay. Keith’s photos will be on display in the meeting room from September through October.
Keith Conforti works professionally as a photographer, graphic designer and college professor. He teaches classes and workshops on both disciplines. |

Gentle Yoga Flow and Stretch

This is a Yang style class which focuses more on the larger muscle groups with slower, thoughtful and accessible movements, mostly on the ground, combined with gentle stretching.
All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners and advanced beginners.
All you need is an open mind, yoga mat, a towel or blanket (to roll for support as needed), and water.

NPL Evening Book Group: Smoke Gets in Your Eyes

This month we will be reading Smoke Gets in Your Eyes & Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty.
Most people want to avoid thinking about death, but Caitlin Doughty—a twenty-something with a degree in medieval history and a flair for the macabre—took a job at a crematory, turning morbid curiosity into her life’s work. Thrown into a profession of gallows humor and vivid characters (both living and very dead), Caitlin learned to navigate the secretive culture of those who care for the deceased.
