The fields are bare, the leaves have fallen from the trees, and the skies are going gray and turning cold. Tim Weisberg is the host and co-creator of Spooky Southcoast, one of the world’s longest-running radio programs on the topic of the paranormal. In addition to his radio work, Tim also serves as the Paranormal Editor at UltimateUnexplained.com, a website covering the paranormal and true crime. Teens and adults welcome.

Friends of NPL Fall Pop-Up Book Sale

The Friends of the Norwell Public Library are having a pop-up book sale Saturday, October 21 from 12-2pm. There will be a Halloween-themed story time with Skipper (the therapy dog), crafts, and face painting.

All proceeds from the sale fund our library's wonderful programming. No registration necessary. We hope to see you there!

Join the Norwell Historical Society for a celebration of the new NPL exhibit “The History of Norwell in 10 Objects.” Historian Stephen O’Neill will discuss each object—from indigenous artifacts to a Gilded Age jacket—and explain why they were specifically chosen to illustrate change over time. (Time includes brief members meeting at 5:30pm)

Synopsis: An American grandson of the infamous scientist Dr. Frankenstein struggles to prove that his grandfather was not as insane as people believe. He is invited to Transylvania where he discovers the process that reanimates a dead body.

Mindfulness practices based on the 7 attitudes from Jon Kabat-Zinn are woven throughout the class to facilitate the connection of the mind, breath, body, and spirit. All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners and advanced beginners. 

All you need is an open mind, yoga mat, and a towel or blanket (to roll for support as needed), and water.

Melissa Lozada-Oliva is the child of Guatemalan and Colombian immigrants and the author of Dreaming of You and Peluda. Her work has been featured in NPR, Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, PAPER, Armani Beauty, and more. She is a member of the band Meli and the Specs. She holds an MFA in poetry from NYU and lives in New York City.

Needle felting is an addictive art that uses a sharp barbed needle to turn fluffy wool into dense shapes. All supplies are included and you get to bring them home with you.

Sourdough Brandon will be showing us how to make, maintain, and store a sourdough starter- get expert advice from a sourdough baker and food blogger. Volunteer puppy raisers from Guiding Eyes for the Blind will present on what it's like to raise and train a future guide dog.
