Cupcake Decorating and Pride Card Event!

In conjunction with the OCLN Library Crawl, join us for a cupcake decorating event in the meeting room from 1-3pm (drop-in anytime). Cupcake supplies are limited.

Supplies will also be available for folks to make pride cards to celebrate pride month. No registration required!

Summer Reading Kickoff

The Norwell Public Library will run its annual Summer Reading Program from Monday, June 26 to Friday, August 11th.

Join us in the meeting room to sign up for the Adult, Teen, or Children's Summer Reading Program! Once you've signed up, you can head on out to the  Kona Ice Truck for a scoop of shaved ice (while supplies last). Yard games will also be available.

The Traveling Art Show (High School/Middle School Art Exhibit)

NPL's May and June exhibit is the Traveling Art Show which will showcase winners from the 2022 Fine Arts Festival (Winners are students who attend Norwell Public High School and Middle Schools). These works will remain in the gallery until new winners are selected from the 2023 Fine Arts Festival.

Please join us for the art reception on June 13 at 3pm.

Baby Play Group

Meet new parents in a space with age appropriate toys for ages 0-12 months.  Registration required.

Storytime with Marissa

Ages 0-5 are welcome to join Marissa for 30 minutes of stories, participatory songs, and fingerplays that support early literacy. Registration is required. Please sign up for each week you are interested in attending.

Storytime with South Shore Vocational School

Students from South Shore Vocational School will be on hand to give a story time, with time for an activity after. For children and their caregivers ages 1-5. Caregiver must remain with children. No registration required.

Rockabye Beats

Please welcome Shon from Rockabye Beats for this high energy, engaging musical concert for children ages 0-5! Registration is required and caregiver must remain with children. This program is supported by the Norwell Cultural Council, a local agency which is funded by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.

Can you find the characters hiding in the children's room? Complete the scavenger hunt and get a sticker!

Congratulations to the Class of 2023! You did it! Join us at the library to write down your name on a paper cap and tape your name up on the graduating class wall.

Pride Month Take and Make: Rainbow Heart Pop-Up Card

Register to reserve your very own Rainbow Heart Pop-Up Card craft kit with pick ups starting Monday, June 5th. Be sure to register, limited craft kits available. To pick up your craft kit please go to the front circulation desk.

Teen Final Exam Snack Bar and Research Help

If you're using the library as a study place for final exams and papers, help yourself to refreshments and give yourself a needed break. Drop in research help and paper review assistance is available from the YA Librarian during this time. Contact Ms.Brooke at bvitagliano@norwell.ocln.org if you wish to pre-schedule an appointment. On Tuesday, Ms.Brooke will only be available until 6pm. 

Teen Pride and Pronoun Button Making

Teens are welcome to drop in any time during 3 to 4pm to make their own pronoun and pride buttons!

We have a selection of yarn and needles for beginners. Drop-ins welcome! Registration optional.

Mindful Yoga for Everyone

Mindfulness practices based on the 7 attitudes from Jon Kabot-Zin are woven throughout the class to facilitate the connection of the mind, breath, body, and spirit. All levels are welcome, with a focus on beginners and advanced beginners. 

All you need is an open mind, yoga mat, and a towel or blanket (to roll for support as needed), and water.

Dinner and a Movie: Phantom Thread

Renowned dressmaker Reynolds Woodcock and his sister Cyril are at the center of British fashion in 1950s London -- dressing royalty, movie stars, heiresses, socialites and debutantes. Take a break from the stress of life and relax with therapy dog Skipper. Skipper will be visiting every third Thursday of the month. No registration is required. 

South of Boston Board Game Meetup

The Norwell Public Library is excited to host the South of Boston Board Game Meetup on Saturday, June 17th from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm. The group began as an inclusive community of board gamers in the South Shore area and beyond. Bring a game to swap with other attendees. This free event is open to junior high aged teens and adults of all ages. No Registration Required.

Virtual - Nancy Horan in Conversation with Therese Fowler

Literary Circle Book Group

This month we will all be reading different books on the topic of transgender.
