Ed the Wizard Monday August 8 10:30-11:15am Ages 3 and up with an adult Meeting Room My name is Ed Popielarczyk. I am a professional magician, balloon sculptor, flea circus ringmaster, and storyteller. I have been entertaining children and family audiences for over 35 years. I was interviewed in the November 2008 issue of Wondertime Magazine (a Disney Publication) on what makes children laugh. My magic show is a comedy show that uses a lot of audience participation. The kids are the stars because they make the magic happen. I usually have lots of trouble! I don’t just “do a trick” I tell a story that revolves around each trick. It may be a short story or a longer one, but each story helps to bring the trick together. Every child who comes on “stage” to be a helper receives a souvenir! The show is appropriate for ages 3 and up. This program is sponsored by UFUND Start U Reading series. www.mefa.org

Sorry I'm Late, I Didn't Want to Come : One Introvert's Year of Saying Yes by Jessica PanAn introvert spends a year trying to live like an extrovert with hilarious results and advice for readers along the way.
What would happen if a shy introvert lived like a gregarious extrovert for one year? If she knowingly and willingly put herself in perilous social situations that she'd normally avoid at all costs? Writer Jessica Pan intends to find out. With the help of various extrovert mentors, Jessica sets up a series of personal challenges (talk to strangers, perform stand-up comedy, host a dinner party, travel alone, make friends on the road, and much, much worse) to explore whether living like an extrovert can teach her lessons that might improve the quality of her life. Chronicling the author's hilarious and painful year of misadventures, this book explores what happens when one introvert fights her natural tendencies, takes the plunge, and tries (and sometimes fails) to be a little bit braver.

Things to Look Forward to : 52 Large and Small Joys for Today and Every Day by Sophie Blackall"Everyone needs things to look forward to-big things and small things, on good days and on bad days; things that will buoy our spirits and make us laugh and help us feel alive. In these pages, beloved author and illustrator Sophie Blackall has gathered a collection of joyful things for all of us: things that are always there if we look for them, like the sun coming up; things we can do if the sun is behind a cloud, like baking for other people or drawing a face on an egg; and things that can happen when we least expect them, like falling in love. Funny, compassionate, and sometimes even wise, Blackall-through personal stories, paintings, and a list of 52 Things to Look Forward To-offers us a handbook on how to make the most of our time here on Earth. There is always something bright on the horizon, and sometimes the horizon is closer than we think"
