Instructor Rhiannon uses physical demonstration, verbal direction, modifications and variations to make this class suitable for beginners and seasoned yogis alike. Hands on assists will NOT be provided. Bring: water bottle, yoga mat and your sense of humor. No mat? No problem. We have a limited number of extras available for use.

Gooding, Jr. for a fascinating look at the topic of his most recent book Black Oscars: From Mammy to Minny, What the Academy Awards Tell Us About African Americans. Monday, September 27 7:00-8:30 p.m. Live Online! Zoom Just about everyone is familiar with the popular Law and Order TV series. During each episode a case is followed from the commission of the crime, through the police investigation, and finally to the courtroom. In this slide show, David Kruh brings Law & Order to Boston by looking at three high-profile cases from three eras of the city's history: The Boston Massacre, The Parkman Murder, and the Boston Strangler. Together, we'll look at the crime (or crimes), follow the investigation, and wind up in court, where we will argue the case and hear the verdict.

Tuesday, September 21, 2021 6:00-8:00 p.m. Live Online! Zoom As part of the Mid-Autumn Festival Chinese Calligraphy Exchange Exhibit, going on during the month of September at the Thomas Crane Public Library, calligraphy lovers and anyone with an interest in learning more is invited to a special program by Mr. Yunhua Ju, a calligrapher sojourning in the United States and a visiting scholar to the University of Massachusetts. Yunhua Ju's five styles calligraphy works make up the the majority of the exhibit, along with one work by Ren Li, an IB Chinese teacher at Brockton High School. Audience-members will be invited to listen to Ren Li discuss "American Calligraphy Teaching Practice" followed by a talk by Yunhua Ju on "How to Enjoy a Chinese Calligraphy." There will be an opportunity to ask questions of both speakers.

Would you like to help an adult to improve their reading & writing skills or study towards getting their GED or HISET diploma? Consider being a volunteer literacy tutor. Come to the orientation and find out if the program is the right fit for you! Literacy Volunteers of Massachusetts- Quincy at the Thomas Crane Public Library is a non-profit educational program that offers free tutoring to adults in basic reading and writing through a regional network of trained volunteers. 617-376-1314.

GED/HiSET Exam Study (Online) Are you studying for your GED or HiSET diploma? Enroll in one of our two High School Equivalency online classes to prepare for the GED test or HiSET exam. Do you have the time and the desire to follow an online study program (3 to 4 hours a week) and meet with a tutor on a weekly basis (once a week for 2 hours at the library or online)?

Wednesdays, September 1, 8, 15 3:00-4:30 p.m. This 6-week program peer-led event is designed to empower teens with an anti-racist skillset that will allow them to be active and engaged in their communities. Teens looking to engage in social justice settings are encouraged to register. Participants will earn 1 1/2 hours of community service per session. In the event of inclement weather we will be meeting online and the link will be emailed to all participants.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED Tuesday, September 17, 7:00-9:00 p.m. New and experienced players are invited to join us for this introduction to D&D 5th edition game play. Take on the role of a fantasy hero in this Dungeons & Dragons game. We will meet for an hour and a half for to play this story.
Campaign details: No Humans Allowed! For our Tails & Tales summer reading theme this summer's Dungeons & Dragons campaign will take place in a land where humans are the unusual ones and minotaurs, centaurs, leonin, and more are commonplace. Characters will be provided for this one-shot session.

Players will need to create a free account on Roll20.net and be able to join a Zoom meeting for voice chat. Character sheets and a tutorial on how to use Roll20 as a player will be provided in the first session! A link to the Zoom chat and invite to the Roll20 campaign will be emailed to registered players before the first session.
