Library Card Sign Up Month

Roll Out And Read with a Library Card!

Each year, the Thomas Crane Public Library joins the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card.

Interested in trying a new hobby in our Makerspace? Hoping to learn a new language? Curious about your family history? Want to enjoy a concert inside a beautiful, historic building? Need to fax? Need to borrow a power washer for a weekend? So many options! There’s something for everyone at the Thomas Crane Public Library!

Do you know someone who doesn't have a library card? Invite them to sign up this month! Quincy residency isn't required to get a library card with us. You can sign up for a library e-card online to get started with our services. E-cards expire after 60 days, so make sure to come into one of the Quincy libraries with a valid photo ID to convert your e-card into a physical library card!

Honoring Our History, Imagining Our Future
TCPL Strategic Plan FY 2025 - 2030

The Thomas Crane Public Library would like to thank all community partners, patrons, and library staff for sharing their input about the Library and our services! The wide-ranging planning process elicited input from city residents and stakeholders. Library staff facilitated eight public listening sessions with guiding questions about Library spaces and services, ran a five week long multilingual community survey, and held focus groups with our community partners and Library stakeholders. Together, the collected community data helped inform the Library's strategic planning for fiscal years 2025 to 2030.

The Strategic Plan serves as the Thomas Crane Public Library’s organizational compass, guiding the development of annual action plans and helping to provide exceptional services. The Strategic Plan outlines our vision, mission, priorities, and values, and includes a summary of the planning process and results. The digital copy is available on our website here.

Wednesdays
5 - 7 PM
Main Library
* CLOSED ON 8/28 & 9/4 *
For All Ages
(Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult guardian)

Drop-In Open Hours allows guests to use the makerspace equipment for personal projects and or experimentation!

We recommend planning ahead and reserving equipment in advance. Reserve ahead here. Use of an equipment must be completed by the end of your reservation time so as not to run over into the following reservation.

Additionally, staff cannot provide detailed, one-on-one instruction during open hours. However, The Cranium webpage does provide detailed tutorials and instructions on the equipment and any additional questions you may have can be directed to quref@ocln.org

Makerspace programs are generously sponsored by the Friends of the Thomas Crane Public Library.

The Cranium was supported by grant funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the federal Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
