| BREAKING NEWS |
The Trenton Branch of the Quinte West Public library has REOPENED! | |
Upgrades to the library’s Trenton branch include new height-adjustable service desks, fresh paint, carpet, lounge furniture and bistro tables and chairs that offer inclusive and accessible customer experiences. Two new office pods have also been added offering dedicated space for taking exams, making private phone calls, and conducting small meetings.
The size and capacity of the library’s MakerSpace at the Trenton branch have increased, making room for a new 3D scanner and sewing machines. This new equipment offers additional learning opportunities, adding to the 3D printer, laser cutter, t-shirt press, and Cricut vinyl cutter already in the space.
The Parrott Foundation generously contributed $75,000 to renovate the Children’s Area at the Trenton branch. Enhancements to the Children’s Area include exciting learning-through-play features including a light box table, a Duplo Legotable, and interactive magnetic wall panels featuring movable components, including ramps, tunnels, pathways and slides. New child-friendly furniture offers comfortable spaces for experiencing the magic of ‘getting lost in a book.’
“Quinte West Public Library staff are excited to welcome new and returning customers to experience the new look and offerings at the Trenton branch,” says Suzanne Humphreys, Chief Executive Officer of the Quinte West Public Library. “The experience of learning, whether formal or informal, at the Quinte West Public Library is an exciting opportunity. The new renovated space, new furniture and equipment will offer customer-friendly, modern, and dynamic learning experiences for all community members. We are grateful to the Parrott Foundation, the Friends of the Library group, and the City of Quinte West for helping make this project possible.”
| The Quinte West Public Library welcomes new CEO! |
| We are excitied to welcome Jeri-Lynn Thomas as our new CEO at The Quinte West Public Library.
“I have a passion for community building, and specifically growing, enhancing and innovating public library services and spaces,” said Thomas. “Growing up in Southwest Ontario, I couldn’t wait to spend my summers on my grandparents’ multi-generational farm in Napanee. I know and love the Quinte West area and am looking forward to living in and serving this vibrant and beautiful community. I can’t wait to get started,” - Jeri-Lynn.
