October Happenings!There is so much to celebrate in October, including Filipino American History Month, Halloween and preparations for Dia de los Muertos. This month, we have take-home activities, virtual and in-person programs and lots of book suggestions to help you enjoy the month.

Monster Rock & Spider Ring Kits Visit Manor Branch Library during open hours (Monday and Fridays from 1-5 p.m.) starting October 11 to pick up a free "Halloween Take and Make Kit." The kit will contain all the supplies you will need to make 2 different crafts - Paint your own monster rock and make a spider ring to wear. Activities are best for ages 6-10. Available through through Oct. 29, 2021 or while supplies last

Mabuhay! A Traditional Filipino Dance Performance by Kariktan Dance Company Saturday, October 16, 2021 All ages are invited to learn about Filipino culture through dances like Tinikling and Bulaklakan. Non-profit organization Kariktan Dance Company will discuss the history and cultural significance of the dances. An audience participation segment, listening circles, and to-go Pancit & Lumpia Tasting Boxes will follow (while supplies last). This event is part of our (be)Longing: Woven Into the Fabric of Our Community series.
