Summer Reading Cookie Kickoff Drive through or walk up to our outdoor summer reading stations to receive everything you need to join the Library's Summer Reading Program, plus a bag of cookies and an activity kit for kids (while supplies last). Reading Buddies for Grades 1-5 Tuesdays, June 8, 5, 22, 10:00am Kids entering grades 1-5 can practice their reading with a friendly teen volunteer. During the zoom session, kids will read from an ebook for 25 minutes. The teen is there to encourage and help readers with difficult words, and Reading Buddies is a fun way to engage young readers. Registration is required and space is limited.

Spark! Tech Club for Grades 4-6 Mondays, June 14, 21, 28, 3:30pm For kids entering grades 4-6, sign up for our June code club to learn intro to coding with fun results. We have Chromebooks and Hotspots for youth available for check out to enable participation in this virtual program. Space is limited and registration is required. This program is generously sponsored by the California State Library.

STEAM Storytime Wednesdays at 3:30pm Listen to a STEAM-themed book, then engage in a hands-on activity using materials you have at home. Best for kids entering grades K-5. Looking for something free to do as a family? Check out the San Leandro Library’s StoryWalk® stories at two San Leandro parks. Enjoy My Colors, My World/Mis Colores, Mi Mundo by Maya Christina Gonzalez at Marina Park playground, and Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr. at Washington Manor Park.
