The week of October 18th - 24th is Ontario Public Library Week! This week is an opportunity to celebrate and highlight the treasured role of our institution in Parry Sound's community and cultural fabric.
According to the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport, "a strong library is the cornerstone of a strong community. Ontario Public Library Week recognizes the important contribution Ontario's public libraries make to education, literacy and life-long learning in Ontario communities."

Parry Sound Downtown Business Association Colouring Contest
Parents can pick up colouring sheets from the Parry Sound Public Library
between October 13th - 28th, during library hours. When parents return
the finished colouring pages to the library, they will receive
a fun and tasty treat bag for each child!
Age categories: 4 & under, 5-8 and 9-12.
A winner will be chosen from each age category. Each winner will receive
$25 Downtown Dollars to spend, at participating stores!
Winners to be announced on October 30th.
Jack-O'-To-Go with Parry Sound Public Library
Grab a pumpkin to decorate at home when you check out books from Parry
Sound Public Library between October 13th and 28th. While supplies last.
Spooky Story Time with Parry Sound Public Library
October 28th @ 6PM
Tune into Instagram live @parrysoundpubliclibrary at 6:00 PM on October 28th
for a spooky story. Children's Programming Coordinator, Hartley, will read
"Even Monsters Need Haircuts" by Matthew McElligott.
Just a friendly reminder that the province of Ontario is still in
phase 3 of COVID-19 re-opening. While patrons may enter the
physical library space, there are limitations.
The library will allow 15 patrons in the physical library space at a time. Maximum 4 per family. Please practice physical distancing while waiting in line and while you're within the library.
While within the physical library space, patrons must wear a mask or other appropriate face covering. There are exceptions to this rule, as specified by the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. Please click here for more information.
Currently, public computer use is limited to 15-minute express sessions. Personal device use within the library is limited to
30-minutes at one of our
designated laptop stations.
