Library News
Effective Thursday, July 1st, interlibrary borrowing has resumed. Holds may be placed on items belonging to other Black Gold Libraries for local pick up. Library operations are almost back to pre-covid levels of service except for indoor programs. Outdoor programs will resume first and inside programs will return soon. Vaccinated people may unmask indoors at the main and branch libraries and unvaccinated visitors are asked to continue to mask on the honor system. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Coming Soon!
Patrons will soon experience a new look for the Library catalog. A new Google-like search called a discovery layer is being added and will search all Library resources and services for easier navigation and access to more collections. Within the new BlackGold homepage, patrons will soon be able to swipe through categories such as movies, available e-books, non-fiction, and much more! The new drop-down menu will give patrons quick access to our Library resources.

Spotlight On: Independence Day (4th of July)
"Congress formally adopted the Declaration of Independence two days later, July 4, 1776, and the alarm for freedom was sounded at Independence Hall with the Liberty Bell. Americans rejoiced as word spread throughout the newly declared independent states. Although independence had been declared, delegates of the Continental Congress had not yet inked their signatures onto the document. On August 2, 1776, when most delegates signed the Declaration of Independence, it became official." -nps.gov
