Wednesday, November 8 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM Presented by: Dietitians Natalie Koch and Alexis Oswald from Lower Bucks Hospital, Behavioral Health Community Liaison Reginald (Vance) Cooper, Ph.D., MHA; and Leeann Morsa, Manager of Behavioral Health, from Lower Bucks Hospital People living with dementia may face various challenges that could prevent them from maintaining a healthy lifestyle. To address some of these challenges, we are hosting a Dementia and Nutrition educational event. This education event may be beneficial for family and caretakers as well as someone who lives with dementia, providing opportunities for them to learn what to expect as their disease progresses. The speakers will allow for Q&As at the end of their sessions and offer additional resources if needed.

Wednesday, November 15 5:30 PM - 6:15 PM Presented by: Michael Williams and Lorraine Lafferty Volunteer Community Educators from the Alzheimer's Association We know that what's good for the heart is good for the brain! Join us as the Alzheimer's Association talks about the latest research and information on how to make lifestyle choices that may help keep your brain and body healthy as you age. Use hands-on tools to help incorporate these recommendations into a plan for healthy aging.

Tuesday, November 14 & 28 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM You’re invited to join the Grundy Walking Club! Participants meet at 1:00 PM on the second and fourth Tuesdays (October & November) for a one-mile stroll around historic Bristol Borough. We will meet inside the Library on the north side of the building (Youth area) before venturing outdoors. Remember to wear your sunscreen and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather. Escorted by a staff member, Club members will enjoy the scenery of the nearby Delaware River and the benefits of fresh air and exercise in good company. We’ll be striding the very streets walked by industrialist and U.S. Senator Joseph R. Grundy; Michael Dougherty, a U.S. Medal of Honor winner; and Averell Harriman, a ship manufacturer and WWII U.S. diplomat. A one-time 2023 signed waiver of participation is required to walk during these events. The waiver is available at each meeting date.

Friday, November 3 & 17 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Do you want to expand your skills and learn a new trade? Have you considered learning how to code? During this program, we will be learning the fundamentals of HTML, Scratch, and Python coding. Each month will have a different theme so attendees can come to one or all. Attendees can bring their own laptop or Chromebook or use one provided by Grundy Library. This drop-in program is for adults & seniors; registration is not required.

Thursday, November 16 7:00 PM - 8:15 PM Join your hosts Laura and Barbara for a Trivia Night on the Kahoot! gaming platform. This month's trivia night theme is Around the World. What is the name of the tallest mountain in the world? Which country has the largest population in the world? What is the name of the smallest country in the world? If you know the answers to these questions, we invite you to show off your knowledge during this trivia event! This event is appropriate for families and individuals. How to proceed-- 2. A ZOOM link will be emailed to you before the start time. 3. Join the ZOOM event. If you can, log-in about 5-10 minutes early. You'll meet your hosts Librarians Laura and Barbara there. 4. While on ZOOM, the link to the Kahoot! trivia game will be shared with you and the game will begin. 5. Have fun and laugh with us!

Monday, November 6 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM Join us outdoors on the Grundy Library campus for a Tai Chi session with Arlette Twersky. These sessions are at an introductory level. According to the Harvard Medical School, Tai Chi strengthens both the lower and upper extremities and also the core muscles of the back and abdomen. Tai Chi can boost upper- and lower-body flexibility as well as strength and balance. We recommend wearing sunscreen, dressing in comfortable clothing and shoes, and bringing a water bottle. This is an outdoor event. If there is inclement weather, the sessions will be moved inside the Library. Access to the lower-level grounds is by a staircase or ramp.
