Tonieboxes at Grundy Library!
 
Get ready for an exciting adventure at the Grundy Library! We’re thrilled to introduce our brand-new collection of Toniebox kits, the perfect screen-free experience for kids.
 
Each kit comes with a Toniebox and two charming characters to spark your child’s imagination. Plus, if you already have a Toniebox at home, you can check out individual Tonie characters from the Library to explore even more stories and songs.

Tax Forms @ Grundy Library
 
Select 2023 federal tax forms are available at the Grundy Library. Forms include:
  • 1040 U.S. Individual Income Tax Return
  • 1040-SR U.S. Tax Return for Seniors
  • 1040 (and 1040 SR) Instructions
Pennsylvania state tax forms are no longer
available at the Library.
 
Federal forms, instructions & publications as well as Pennsylvania state forms and publications can be downloaded and printed from home. The Grundy Library can print all forms for you at a charge of 20 cents per page (black & white).
 
Property Tax/Rent Rebate Program forms may be available through select locations. Information about tax preparation sites and electronic filing can be found here.

Food for Fines: A National Library Week Celebration

To celebrate National Library Week this year, we are offering patrons the
opportunity to donate non-perishables food items to cover any outstanding fines.*
 
This offer is only in effect between April 8 and April 13.
 
*excludes Museum Pass fines and all fees (lost, damaged, etc.)

Total Eclipse Viewing Party

Get ready for a celestial spectacle at the Grundy Library as we celebrate the upcoming Total Solar Eclipse on April 8th!
 
This will be the last total solar eclipse visible in the contiguous United States until 2044, so don't miss your chance to be part of this historic event.
 
Join us for an exciting day of activities, including fun crafts, a live-cast of the eclipse's point of totality, and an opportunity to contribute to scientific research as a citizen scientist using the Globe Observer App. Experience the wonder of this rare astronomical phenomenon and learn more about the science behind it in a fun, interactive environment.

Step into a realm where Renaissance ingenuity meets magical marvels, as we unveil the intricate tapestry connecting Western science's evolution with the wizarding world's enchantments. From the alchemy of potions to the lore of herbology, from the mythical creatures roaming Hogwarts to the pursuit of immortality, witness the profound influence of Renaissance traditions and concepts in the Harry Potter saga.
 
This exhibit doesn't end at the Library's doors; delve deeper into the magical tapestry with the NLM's accompanying website. Uncover educational modules that illuminate the parallels between Renaissance scholarship and the magic of Harry Potter. Immerse yourself in a digital gallery showcasing a meticulously curated array of artifacts from the annals of the NLM Digital Collections, all fully digitized and accessible 24/7. Join us as we uncover the hidden connections between history, science, and the spellbinding universe of Harry Potter.

Plant Swap
Saturday, April 27

The Grundy Library and Museum are hosting their second annual Plant Swap! Horticulturalists as well as representatives from the Bucks County chapter of the Penn State Master Gardeners, Bristol Borough Garden Club, Hulmeville Garden Club, and Garden Club of Southern Bucks will be on-site to answer your plant questions.
Bring your potted garden seedlings, houseplants, and outdoor plants to share. Plant donations can be dropped off Thursday, April 25, 2024 and Friday, April 26, 2024 from 12:00 to 4:00 pm; donations will also be accepted the day of the event. Donating plants is encouraged but not required in order to participate in the swap. You may want to bring a box for your plants on the day of the Saturday event. Leave a plant, take a plant!
The event is rain-or-shine on the Grundy campus, or inside the Grundy Library. Registration is not required.

NRC: Intro to Writing
Outcomes and Measurements

This is an interactive workshop where participants will learn how to identify and track meaningful outcomes, develop logic models and communicate their impact to stakeholders.
 
By the end of the program, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to implement effective outcomes measurement strategies and make data-driven decisions that improve program effectiveness and drive social impact.

Trivia Night: Harry Potter

You’re invited to join us for a Harry Potter-themed trivia night, the Grundy Library’s first on-site event!
 
Appropriate for all ages, the trivia will cover both books written by J.K. Rowling and all the Hollywood productions.
 
Using the Kahoot! platform on a personal tablet or cell phone, participants will answer questions and be awarded points based on correct answers and the speed at which the answer is entered on the platform.

STEM Saturdays

Welcome to STEM Saturdays at the Library - a monthly program that brings the thrill of science, technology, engineering, and math to your local library!
 
Each month, kids can dive into hands-on activities that explore the wonderful world of STEM.
 
This is a drop-in program for youth in grades 2-8. Registration is not required. 

Walking Club
Tuesday, April 9 & 23

You’re invited to join the Grundy Walking Club! Participants meet on the second and fourth Tuesday (March, April, May & June) for a one-mile stroll around historic Bristol Borough.
 
We will meet inside the Library on the north side of the building (Youth area) before venturing outdoors. Remember to dress for the weather, wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
 
Escorted by a staff member, Club members will enjoy the scenery of the nearby Delaware River, and the benefits of fresh air and exercise in good company. We’ll be striding the very streets walked by industrialist and U.S. Senator Joseph R. Grundy; Michael Dougherty, a U.S. Medal of Honor winner; and Averell Harriman, a ship manufacturer and WWII U.S. diplomat.
 
A one-time 2024 signed waiver of participation is required to walk during these events. The waiver is available at each meeting date.

Do you want to expand your skills and learn a new trade? Have you considered learning how to code? 
 
With every Fiero Code workout and mission you complete, you’ll unlock gear that you can use to customize your own avatar. You can also display your work in a custom portfolio and share your favorite projects with parents, teachers, and friends. You can also register to compete in up to three Fiero Code Challenges each year and submit your projects for a chance to win prizes.
 
These sessions are for students in 3rd grade through adults learners.  
 
Attendees can bring their own laptop or Chromebook or use one provided by Grundy Library.
